ThaiBinh Seed celebrates 15 years of establishment of its North Central Vietnam branch.

In line with ThaiBinh Seed Group's development strategy, aimed at contributing to improving the productivity, quality, and value of agriculture in the North Central provinces, 15 years ago, on August 20, 2009, the North Central branch was established and headquartered in Thanh Hoa Province. The North Central branch's functions and tasks include providing plant seed products to serve agricultural production in the North Central provinces, implementing research projects in the field of crop cultivation, transferring advanced technologies, and introducing new high-yield, high-quality plant varieties to meet the needs of the domestic and export markets, as well as establishing production linkages.

Over the past 15 years, the North Central branch has supplied approximately 45,000-50,000 tons of various plant seeds to the agricultural production of the provinces in the North Central region, contributing to the development of agricultural production and the lives of farmers. According to a 2023 market survey, the total amount of plant seeds supplied to serve the production market in the North Central provinces reached about 30% of the rice production area.

In particular, in Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces, farmers use ThaiBinh Seed varieties on 40% to 50% of their rice production area. This has contributed to the growth of the agricultural sector in the North Central provinces in recent years.

Cooperation in the transfer of science and technology.

In parallel with supplying seeds for production, over the past 15 years, the branch has collaborated with local agricultural departments to conduct thousands of training courses, introduce new crop varieties, and transfer cultivation techniques to millions of farmers in the North Central provinces.

Leveraging its scientific and technical expertise and experience in plant breeding research, ThaiBinh Seed has researched and developed new plant varieties, as well as restored local and specialty rice varieties, to maintain and preserve valuable genetic resources and enhance the value and quality of these varieties. The North Central Branch and the Group's Research Institute have been implementing projects at the request of local authorities, such as: restoring the Cay Noi sticky rice variety in Muong Lat - Thanh Hoa, and the Ra Du and Hung Long sticky rice varieties in Thua Thien Hue. To date, the Cay Noi sticky rice variety has been restored and is ready for local production.

Sharing and supporting the community

In its operations, the North Central branch has always upheld the spirit of responsibility and implemented ThaiBinh Seed's culture of sharing with farmers when they face natural disasters or risks in production and life. Over the past 15 years, ThaiBinh Seed has supported farmers with more than 1,000 tons of plant seeds and hundreds of tons of rice to help farmers in the North Central provinces restore production and stabilize their lives after each natural disaster or epidemic. It has also supported the construction of charitable houses and the Nga An commune health station in Nga Son district, provided funding for a community school in Thanh Chuong district, given gifts to families with meritorious service and families in difficult circumstances, and participated in the "Tet for the Poor" campaign launched by the Fatherland Front of the provinces every Tet holiday.

Throughout its development and growth, the branch has consistently overcome challenges and become one of the leading branches of ThaiBinh Seed Group. The branch's revenue accounts for 30% of the Group's total revenue. From having to rent premises to open a branch, it now has a spacious facility in the Northwest Industrial Zone of Thanh Hoa City. The material and spiritual well-being of employees remains stable and improves over the years, and their benefits are guaranteed.

The activities of the Party cell of the North Central branch have always been a decisive factor in leading the branch to successfully complete its tasks. The Party cell has consistently been recognized as clean and strong by the Group's Party Committee.

In their welcoming remarks, Mr. Hoang Trung - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development; and Mr. Le Duc Giang, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province, warmly praised and congratulated ThaiBinh Seed in general and its North Central branch in particular on the achievements and results they have attained over the past 15 years.

The comrades expressed their hope that in the coming time, ThaiBinh Seed will promote the spirit of solidarity, strive to overcome difficulties, and be proactive and creative in production to successfully complete the group's production and business tasks and plans. At the same time, they urged the company to accelerate the application of scientific technology and digital transformation in management and production; continue to improve research capacity, and collaborate with research institutes and universities to create new rice varieties and key crops that are of high quality, high yield, resistant to pests and diseases, and adaptable to climate change.

On this occasion, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Hoang Trung presented the Minister's Certificate of Commendation to the North Central Branch in Thanh Hoa for its achievements in contributing to the development of the crop production sector and to the development of Vietnamese agriculture and rural areas.

Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Giang presented the Certificate of Commendation from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to the collective of the North Central branch in Thanh Hoa for its achievements in contributing to the development of the crop cultivation sector and the development of agriculture and rural areas in Thanh Hoa province. Labor Hero Tran Manh Bao - Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of ThaiBinh Seed - presented Certificates of Merit to the collective and individuals of the North Central branch for their achievements in production and business activities.

Together with the Group, the branch continues to implement the development strategy in the North Central region assigned by the Group, building the branch into a leading unit in the North Central region's seed market. It closely coordinates with local authorities in introducing advanced seed technologies into production and actively participates in local initiatives. Furthermore, it leverages the support of local authorities, closely links with cooperatives, transfers advanced technologies, markets products, and provides quality products to farmers in a spirit of sincere, sustainable, and mutually beneficial cooperation.
