Assessing the criteria for building new rural areas in Hung Nguyen
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 20th, the Provincial New Rural Development Assessment Council, led by Mr. Nguyen Van Lap - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, worked in Hung Khanh commune, Hung Nguyen district to assess the criteria for new rural development.
Hung Khanh commune has 539 households with 1,778 people. Implementing the National Target Program for building new rural areas, the commune mobilized 63.4 billion VND to invest in the criteria; of which the people contributed 15.719 billion VND.
To date, Hung Khanh commune has constructed 7.3 km of standard-compliant roads. The irrigation system ensures proactive watering for agricultural production. Annual disaster prevention and rescue work is carried out effectively according to the "four on-the-spot" principle, ensuring safety.
100% of households have access to safe electricity. All 5 hamlets have built community cultural centers; the commune's functional cultural center has an area of 500 square meters.2with 200 seats; the commune stadium has an area of 10,682 m².2Meets the required standards. 5 out of 5 hamlets have been recognized as cultural villages.

In 2018, the average per capita income reached 30 million VND, and the poverty rate was 2.85%. The primary school met Level 1 standards. The commune achieved universal education. The percentage of households using clean water reached 99%; environmental sanitation was ensured. The commune Party Committee achieved the "Clean and Strong" rating, and the government completed its tasks excellently. All mass organizations achieved a rating of "good" or higher.
Hung Khanh has built a "strong and widespread" militia force and fulfilled its national defense targets. The commune has achieved safety standards in terms of social security and order, ensuring peace and tranquility.

After conducting on-site inspections and reviewing supporting documents for the indicators and criteria, the members of the provincial appraisal council unanimously approved 19 criteria and requested the commune to complete the dossier for submission to the Provincial People's Committee for recognition as a new rural commune.
