Deep gratitude
(Baonghean.vn) - The morality of drinking water and remembering the source, eating fruit and remembering the person who planted the tree has always been cultivated and nurtured by the Party, the State, socio-political organizations and our People.
During the historic days of July, many groups of pilgrims visited red addresses to burn incense on the graves of heroic martyrs; the houses of heroic Vietnamese mothers, seriously wounded soldiers, were always filled with laughter and chattering voices of young union members... All were turning to those who had contributed to the cause with deep gratitude.
The principle of drinking water, remember its source

Mother Nguyen Thi Truyen's house in hamlet 1, Hung Thinh commune (Hung Nguyen) seems to be more crowded these days because of the chirping of children, the sound of playing and calling each other, which sounds unusually warm. Today, the youth union members of Hung Thinh commune arrived early to cook a happy meal with her and her two elderly children. Mother Truyen is 101 years old this year, although her legs are no longer steady and her hearing is impaired, she is still very clear-headed. When mentioning her two children who left their blood and bones on the battlefield, she shed tears again: "Because the country was in danger, my children had to leave, despite the loss and pain, my family and I are very proud". Mother said, now she is cared for by the Party and the State, in her old age she can enjoy life with her eldest son's family, that is enough...

Also in Hung Thinh commune, the 4/4 war invalids house of Mr. Duong Van Thin, hamlet 3, today received many delegations of visitors. They came to ask about his health and to hear him talk about the days when he was a road patching bomb squad of the Youth Volunteers where he lived and fought during the fierce war years. He said that he was seriously injured when he had to endure the pressure of bombs and mines at Bong gorge, Con Cuong district, while filling bomb craters.
Mr. Thin said: “Although the war years are long gone, every time I think about the sacrifices and losses of my comrades, my heart aches. I and many other comrades were very lucky to return and continue to contribute to life, so we vow to live up to the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers and contribute to the community.”

Not only in Hung Thinh commune, these days, in other localities of Hung Nguyen district, local authorities and political and social organizations also have programs towards War Invalids and Martyrs Day. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hiep - Head of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Hung Nguyen district said: On this occasion, the district mobilized many resources to build a "Fund of gratitude", the movements: Giving gratitude houses, giving savings books to people with meritorious services and relatives of martyrs continued to be promoted. In the first 6 months of the year, the district has paid benefits to more than 4,100 people with meritorious services and relatives of people with meritorious services with an amount of nearly 48 billion VND. Coordinated with the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs of Nghe An province, 9 wheelchairs were presented to relatives of martyrs; money was given to support the construction of 3 gratitude houses for relatives of martyrs and gifts were given to 11 relatives of martyrs and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers.
“Currently, the district is close to completing the goal of 100% of families of people with meritorious services having a standard of living equal to or higher than the average standard of living of the local people and there are no more poor households with members of people with meritorious services to the revolution,” said Mr. Hiep.

Like Hung Nguyen district, Nam Dan district has recently had many programs and activities to show gratitude to wounded soldiers and those who have contributed to the country. The district has organized many delegations to visit and give gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, relatives of martyrs and wounded soldiers in the area, with small but meaningful gifts.
Visiting the home of war invalid 4/4 Nguyen Van Hung in Hai Phong hamlet, Xuan Hoa commune, the district delegation was delighted that this war invalid had overcome difficulties to develop the economy. Mr. Hung said: Over the years, with the attention and help of the local Party Committee and government, our family has successfully built a model of flower and vegetable garden to improve the economy. We have been supported with techniques, irrigation tools, and initial loans to expand the model. In addition, the commune always accompanies war invalids and war invalids to do business in the area to promptly encourage and motivate their initial achievements. This makes us extremely grateful, thereby multiplying the leading examples of economic development in the area led by war invalids. We war invalids and war invalids always receive the attention of the local Party Committee and government, even if they are just small gestures, inquiries on holidays and Tet, but they are so heartwarming.
