Nghe An dialect

The bucket is called the drum.
When you go out to the yard, just say you're going outside to smile.
"Chộ" means "I see myself."
Blanching means dipping, don't laugh, okay?

If you like something, just say you want it.
If you hear someone say "bring a bowl," then bring in a bowl.
Snakehead fish is also called catfish.
Vo trooc means shampooing, dear...

I hear your gentle Northern accent.
Neighbors crowded the house to come and see.
My teeth haven't come to visit your house yet.
The old woman locked the chicken in the coop.

She smiled awkwardly, feeling sorry for him.
My love for you is like my love for my homeland in a hundred ways.
The hot, dry wind from Laos strips the bamboo grove bare.
Just hearing their voices, you could tell they were struggling.

Extracted from barren, rocky soil.
That's why love is so deep, my dear...

FLUENT IN THE NGHE AN DIALECT

Fifty years living in the heart of Hanoi
I can never forget my homeland.
He remembers how to do it, and he remembers it vividly.
I'd love to hear "ri, te" so much!

Suddenly, someone called out, "Give me a glass of water..."
That made my insides churn.
I miss home, I miss my grandmother, I miss my siblings.
I remember when we were getting married, I played the game of "playing cards" (a Vietnamese idiom meaning playing cards or something similar).

I remember my grandfather throughout his life, a life of hardship.
If a mango berry falls down, I have no choice but to eat it.
Let the tide come so the children can gather around.
He taught them, then divided the money equally among them.

I've never seen him wear sandals before!
Barefoot, brushing off dust - then going to bed.
He was so sad that he kept sighing.
Now that I've looked it up, I understand your grandfather's intentions perfectly.

He became a widower very early in life.
I'm about to go home to my grandfather.
Deep down, I keep remembering the months and days.
I miss my hometown of Nghe An! I'm familiar with the Nghe An dialect!

Wow, the Nghe An dialect! Your teeth are so beautiful!
Thanks to your image - the poet is now a widow.
I'm sad, I'm happy, I play, I work...
But I can never forget the love - Nghe An dialect!

BITTER TEA WITH RURAL FLAVOR

Hey girl, hey boy, hey girl!

Green tea leaves from the mountain, picked fresh.
Put it in a pot and boil it until it's piping hot.
Tables and chairs were brought out for the wedding reception!

Invite her and him over for a drink.
The pipe is ready here.
My lighter is completely burnt out.
Please remember to bring some tobacco over too!

Is the plowing done yet, when should the tissue be transplanted?
How many plots of land are there for peanuts, green beans, etc.?
What kind of work does your family do this season?
With this kind of sunshine, the rice will surely dry quickly!

The bull's hooves eat under the bald guy.
The branch broke and ran in, blocking the field!
If he doesn't change, we'll feed him again.
You're being stubborn with me, you want to get your ass kicked?

What's wrong with your cousin's daughter?
That family is rude and insults the old woman.
That brat saw that, give him two slaps.
Oh my god, what a jerk!

The old woman was numb, she just hit him hard.
My great-grandson went south and left his wife.
My stepfather is so clueless, he's so good at everything.
So, abandoning the wilderness, what a terrible defeat!

With such scorching sun, you must be exhausted!
Rice that's spoiled is harmful, don't let the stork in.
He split his leg open while carrying the rice.
Crouching, squinting…missing something!

That kid is so arrogant, he's practically blind.
I don't know whose house it is that has been abandoned.
That nephew of hers is definitely a good match.
Okay, just ask him what he's doing!

My great-grandchild lives in the industrial zone.
He was very skilled at capturing people, leaving behind bones.
Another case of infection or toothache.
I'm thinking about taking a break... and I'm even regretting the lost salary!

I'll definitely go back to my hometown someday, but when?
Loose bags are perfect for wearing at home.
Chickens and ducks in the coop, seven nests in total.
Fresh bamboo shoots, fragrant herbs, and homemade wine!

Uncle is outside, nearby.
What did the central committee members say at their meeting?
The gears are making us suffer.
Japan, South Korea, America, and Australia are so lucky!

Watching the scene on TV, my heart ached.
Bombings and acts of terrorism spare no one.
The most evil and strange army… ISIS
Poisonous, demonic creatures like you!

I'll send it to you tomorrow.
There are a quantity of shallots, a dozen chicken eggs.
Add some ginger and lime leaves.
They don't do anything like we do over there!

Beside the cup of shimmering green tea
Half a sweet potato, ground sesame seeds
A bowl of boiled peanuts, a few pieces of cake.
We, the West, villages, hamlets…it's a never-ending story!

FATHER'S ADVICE
The father told his son to get married now.
I'm old now, what's left of my old age?
Now just run around and make your choice.
The girls from Nghe An are in no way inferior.
Greedy SH with Novo
Red nose, rosy cheeks, long legs, short skirt
I spent three days in Nghe An, enjoying both wind and sunshine.
His skin was as black as a charcoal furnace.
The girls from our village are hardworking and well-behaved.
With green seeds, the garden is filled with blue silk.
Resourceful in making a living from firewood and wild berries.
She's pretty, not inferior to anyone.
Now, I am eager to learn widely and understand deeply.
After marrying him, she was as timid as a precious egg.
Boys are born accustomed to enduring hardship.
Broken bowls, dented pots, regretful clanging of food.
Look at my mother, she's been married to me for decades.
Sometimes I just complain.
A bow needs to be skillful in appearance, not in speech.
Skillful, considerate, resourceful, and well-behaved.
Find paper in Nghe An province.
Just listen to me and you'll be happy for the rest of your life.
Don't let the underworld search you.
There's no one left who will regret it for the rest of their life.
Go get married, you're getting old enough.
Find someone from the same hometown to fall in love with, it makes life easier.
Don't be greedy for big houses and fancy cars now.
They encouraged each other to work hard to earn a living.
The two families became close during difficult times.
I'm not used to speaking both Southern and Northern dialects.
When visiting someone's house, they might offer a glass of water.
Looking up and down again only makes the house filthy.
The crossbowman is used to making a fuss about going far.
Dress like a city dweller.
The crown was presented to both families as a token of appreciation.
Pickled guava, a glass of light wine, and reciting poetry.
My father warned me not to look for the paper anywhere.
Just bring any country girl you want here, I'll take her all.
Short skirts and long legs? I'll kill you!
Don't keep nagging... you have to get involved with Nghe An.
.....
Father heard that the girl is from Ha Tinh.
She was also obedient and deeply devoted to her husband.
They share the Lam River and the Red River.
Bring home the betel nuts and bamboo shoots that my father prepared!
P.S.: The kids said I've forgotten the Nghe An dialect.
It's best to write poetry entirely in standard Vietnamese.
Twenty years of hard work in the rice paddies.
Forget about teeth, in my hometown dialect it's "Mệ đẻ" (Grandma gives birth)!
