A place for emotions to settle

In the warm sunshine of May, the cool scent of lotus flowers, and the chirping of cicadas, visitors from all over the country gathered at the place that in the minds of the people of the whole country is their “common homeland”. Everyone was radiant with happiness when they set foot in the beloved homeland of Uncle Ho and were deeply moved by the stories about his childhood in “Tru Village, his mother’s hometown and Sen Village, his father’s hometown” at the Kim Lien Relic Site.

During these historic May days, every day the Kim Lien National Special Relic Site welcomes thousands of visitors from all over the country to visit Uncle Ho's hometown. Many families live far away but come every year and many times each year on holidays and Tet to remember and pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and remind their children and grandchildren to consider Uncle Ho's hometown as a place to always remember and return to after long trips.

Mr. Tran Dinh Phong from Lam Thao district, Phu Tho province shared: "Although I have visited Uncle Ho's hometown many times, when I came here and saw the scenery, the memorial house, Uncle Ho's memorabilia, especially the stories about Uncle Ho and his family members through the tour guides, I was so moved that I could not hold back my tears."

Mr. Lam Dinh Hung - Deputy Director of Kim Lien National Special Relic Site said: To prepare for the activities of the Sen Village Festival celebrating the 134th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, since the beginning of April, the relic site has deployed the replacement of clusters of happy flags, national flags, slogan banners, clusters of panels, posters in parking lots, roads, areas under the management of the relic site...

In particular, in early May, the relic site received more than 500 lanterns donated by a business in Ninh Binh province to create a "lantern road" hanging on two rows of shady mango trees from the main gate to the exhibition area. In addition, the relic site has developed a plan to ensure security and order; arranged a team of tour guides and permanent staff at tourist attractions and security posts; coordinated with units and organizations to organize general environmental sanitation, ensuring aesthetics, culture and tourism civilization.

It is known that since the beginning of the year, Kim Lien National Special Relic Site has had many meaningful activities towards the 134th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday. Notably, in coordination with Ho Chi Minh Museum, it organized the exhibition "Simple but noble examples" introducing 134 typical advanced examples in "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style", organized the exhibition "Echoes of Dien Bien"...

In addition, the relic site coordinated with Nghe An Radio and Television Station to organize a bridge at Hoang Tru Relic Complex in a live television bridge of the special political and artistic program "Lotus Village Nurtures Great Ambitions"...

To form an ideal tourist destination

As a red address for compatriots, domestic tourists and international friends, Kim Lien National Special Relic Site opens to welcome visitors every day of the year, during peak months it opens at noon and an additional hour in the afternoon. In the condition of no increase in staff, no shift work, this is a great effort of the cadres, civil servants and workers of the relic site in the work of preserving, embellishing and protecting relics, documents, artifacts as well as promoting values ​​associated with tourism development.

Currently, the total number of artifacts on display in the relic houses and additional exhibition houses at the Kim Lien Special National Relic Site is 290 artifacts, with nearly 100 original artifacts and artifacts of the same type.

In addition, the relic site's relic warehouse is preserving and displaying 42 types of artifacts with nearly 4,000 units of artifacts, along with hundreds of documents and artifacts, including documentary photos, souvenirs from domestic and foreign delegations, from localities, agencies and units donated to the Kim Lien Special National Relic Site, and hundreds of pages of collected documents, contributing to enriching the documents and artifacts about President Ho Chi Minh during the years he lived in his homeland and the two times he returned to visit his homeland.

Over the years, the Kim Lien National Special Relic Site has maintained good routine preservation work, gradually applying scientific, technical and technological advances to the work of preserving relics, and at the same time, well implementing the regimes of periodic preservation and restoration against relic degradation. In addition to the allocated budget, the unit has flexibly called for socialized sources from organizations and individuals to sponsor from 10 to 20 billion VND/year.

Up to now, Kim Lien National Special Relic Site has digitized more than 10,000 documents and artifacts, applied 360-degree VR virtual reality technology and AR augmented reality combined with modern touch screens at the additional exhibition house and the tomb of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan, at the same time, developed a number of additional items to serve visitors at the relic site such as: Performing Nghe Tinh folk songs, visiting Uncle Ho's fish pond, experiencing rice milling, pounding rice, writing calligraphy...; creating landscape spaces such as flower roads, flower islands, for visitors to check-in; renovating Dai Hue Park for students to picnic, camp...

Kim Lien National Monument has also focused on training its staff and workers to become more and more professional, including improving the quality of its tour guides so that the content and format of the tour guides are regularly changed to suit each group of visitors, creating something new and attractive. Currently, Kim Lien National Monument has trained 5 English tour guides, 8 Lao tour guides and 1 French tour guide, leaving a good impression on domestic and international visitors.

In addition, the Kim Lien National Special Relic Site has promoted the development and diversification of products and service types, focusing on building unique products with unique identities and outstanding values ​​to serve tourists. Currently, the relic site is coordinating with the Japanese JICA Organization and businesses to gradually diversify and improve the quality of tourism products, at the same time, bringing typical OCOP products of districts in the province to the relic site to serve tourists; deploying a tourist information center to introduce Nghe An's destinations to tourists.

To make Kim Lien National Special Relic Site a cultural - festival center, a historical - cultural relic site of national and international significance, an ideal tourist destination for domestic and foreign tourists, in the coming time, the relic site will focus on coordinating with relevant agencies and units to implement the master plan to upgrade the Kim Lien National Special Relic Site approved in Decision No. 1943/QD-TTg, dated November 27, 2020 of the Prime Minister, focusing on the following items: 43-hectare cultural tourism area; 9-storey waterfall at the tomb of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan; Chung Mountain cultural - ecological tourism area, Lang Sen cultural space... Along with that, complete the automatic explanation system; complete the Service Center project at the intersection of Nam Giang commune; strengthen communication work, connect with tourist attractions in the province...
