Vietnam U16 entered the match with Myanmar U16 with great confidence because they had previously defeated Malaysia U16 and Australia U16 with the same score of 3-0. Coach Dinh The Nam and his team rushed to attack right after the opening whistle, continuously pressuring their opponents.

However, U16 Myanmar was the team that opened the score in the 14th minute, when player number 19 executed a tricky free kick that goalkeeper Huu Tuan could not save despite flying as far as he could.

Despite conceding an early goal, U16 Vietnam did not lose heart. Coach Dinh The Nam's players quickly regained their composure and attacked relentlessly. U16 Myanmar focused heavily on defense but could only keep a clean sheet until the 33rd minute. Duy Khiem quickly ran down after receiving a pass from his teammate in the middle of the field, crossing for Khac Khiem to tap the ball in to tie the score 1-1.

With their spirits up, U16 Vietnam attacked more sharply. And in the last official minute of the first half, the white team scored their second goal. Coach Dinh The Nam's players coordinated as if there was no one in the opponent's penalty area before Huu Thang finished by sending the ball close to the post, making goalkeeper Yan Soe's flying attempt meaningless.

In the second half, the game was one-sided. U16 Vietnam attacked relentlessly while U16 Myanmar struggled to endure. Although they did not take advantage of all the good opportunities created, coach Dinh The Nam's team still scored three more goals thanks to Trong Long (minute 52), Ngoc Tien (minute 64) and Huu Thang (minute 69) to end the match with a score of 5-1.

Winning the third consecutive match, U16 Vietnam leads Group A. Second is U16 Myanmar with 5 points less. Although there are two matches left (against U16 Philippines on July 16 and U16 Singapore on July 18), coach Dinh The Nam and his team are considered to have secured a ticket to the semi-finals.

In Group B, U16 Cambodia is leading with six points after two matches. U16 Thailand is three points behind but has played one match less.
