(Baonghean.vn) - Among the 6 students from class 12A of Thanh Chuong 1 High School who scored above 26 points on the university entrance exam, with 6 achieving scores above 27 points, the most notable is Vo Thi Lien, who, despite her very difficult family circumstances, has followed her brother's example to become an outstanding student.

Just like three years ago, these days, the simple one-story house of Mr. Vo Ba Phuong and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hai in Ngoc Minh hamlet, Thanh Ngoc commune, Thanh Chuong district, is filled with laughter and chatter, because their daughter, Vo Thi Lien, a 12th-grade student in class A of Thanh Chuong 1 High School, has just achieved 27.45 points in the A-block subjects of the National High School Graduation Examination.

Mr. Phuong and Mrs. Hai were formerly workers at the Ru Nguoc workshop of the Rao Gang brick and tile factory, and are now retired. With their meager pensions, they have taken on an additional two acres of farmland and raised livestock and poultry. Life is difficult, but their two children are diligent and excellent students.

Vo Ba Au (born in 1995), the eldest son, was the valedictorian of the Information Officer School in 2013. After graduating, Au was specially selected by the Ministry of Defense to study electronic warfare information technology at the Russian Federal Aviation Academy.

Lien's parents, Mr. Vo Ba Phuong and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hai, are proud of their children's academic achievements.

Âu's younger sister, Võ Thị Liên, was an outstanding student from grades 1 to 12, having won a provincial-level award for excellence in physics. At the end of her 12th grade year, she scored above 9 points in all three subjects: Math, Physics, and Chemistry. In the recent exam, she achieved a score of 9.25 in Math, 9.2 in Physics, and 9.0 in Chemistry, and aspires to study at Hanoi Medical University to become a doctor.

Teachers generally agree that Vo Thi Lien is very active and studious. Her mother, Nguyen Thi Hai, said that despite their difficult circumstances, they are determined to invest in her education. Vo Thi Lien herself is determined to continue studying hard at university to earn a scholarship and help support her parents.
