Thanh Chuong repairs damaged roads after floods.
(Baonghean.vn) - After the floodwaters receded, Thanh Chuong district mobilized forces to actively repair damaged transportation infrastructure, helping people to stabilize their lives as soon as possible.

In Thanh Son commune,Thanh ChuongFollowing the floods, over 10 inter-village roads were damaged or eroded; the flood also swept away one abutment of the Xop Lam bridge crossing the Rao Con stream. Immediately after the water receded, the people of Xop Lam and Cha Coong villages in Thanh Son commune voluntarily contributed over 30 million VND to buy steel and cement to build a temporary bridge.
Mr. Lu Van Duong, Chairman of the Thanh Son Commune People's Committee, said: Immediately after the floodwaters receded, the commune mobilized over 1,000 laborers from villages and hamlets, along with machinery, to clear the roads that had been buried by landslides on both the uphill and downhill slopes. Currently, most inter-village and inter-hamlet roads have been reopened.

Mr. Tran Phi Hung, Head of the Agriculture Department of Thanh Chuong district, added: After the floods, Thanh Chuong district suffered damage to many transportation and irrigation infrastructure projects. Specifically, 3.6 km of concrete roads were eroded, 15 pumping stations were flooded and damaged, and 28 spillways and 45 culverts were swept away by the floodwaters…

Immediately after the floodwaters receded, the district mobilized all available forces to address the damage; directed communes to temporarily repair damaged inter-village roads, and constructed several temporary bridges for people to use; cleared landslide areas in Thanh Lien and Thanh Son communes; and temporarily reinforced sections of the dam embankment that had collapsed.

Thanh Chuong District is currently conducting inspections, reviews, and assessments of the extent of damage.The structure is damaged.Accordingly, for structures with minor damage, communes are required to mobilize local forces to organize temporary repairs to quickly meet the requirements for road access and production for the upcoming winter-spring crop. For structures with severe damage, a list will be compiled to propose priority funding for timely repairs.
