Thanh Chuong merged 3 communes, took the new name Dai Dong
(Baonghean.vn) - The three merged communes include Thanh Tuong, Thanh Hung and Thanh Van, formerly belonging to Dai Dong commune.
On the afternoon of August 26, the People's Council of Thanh Chuong district, term 19, held its 10th session - an extraordinary session. Here, delegates voted to approve the project to merge 3 communes: Thanh Tuong, Thanh Hung and Thanh Van to form a new commune-level administrative unit called Dai Dong.
Accordingly, before the merger, Thanh Tuong commune had an area of 3.04 km2, population 3,308 people. Thanh Hung commune has an area of 6.36 km2, population 4,489 people. Thanh Van commune has an area of 6.46 km2, population 5,617 people.
After merging, the 3 communes will form a new administrative unit with a total area of 15.86 km2.2, population 13,414 people.
The merger of the three communes mentioned above also received high consensus from local residents. Accordingly, 97.8% of Thanh Tuong commune residents, 96.7% of Thanh Van commune residents and 99.4% of Thanh Hung commune residents agreed with the merger plan.
