(Baonghean.vn) - The three merged communes are Thanh Tuong, Thanh Hung, and Thanh Van, formerly belonging to Dai Dong district.

On the afternoon of August 26th, the 19th term of the Thanh Chuong District People's Council held its 10th session - an extraordinary session. At this session, the delegates voted to approve the plan to merge three communes: Thanh Tuong, Thanh Hung, and Thanh Van, to form a new commune-level administrative unit named Dai Dong.

Accordingly, before the merger, Thanh Tuong commune had an area of ​​3.04 square kilometers.2Thanh Hung commune has a population of 3,308 people and an area of ​​6.36 km².2Thanh Van commune has a population of 4,489 people and an area of ​​6.46 km².2, population 5,617 people.

After the merger, the three communes will form a new administrative unit with a total area of ​​15.86 square kilometers.2, population 13,414 people.

The merger of the three aforementioned communes also received strong support from the local residents. Accordingly, 97.8% of the people in Thanh Tuong commune, 96.7% of the people in Thanh Van commune, and 99.4% of the people in Thanh Hung commune agreed with the merger plan.
