Thanh Hoa: Tens of thousands of people flock to Phu Na Temple to ask for holy water and pray for peace.

Phu Na, also known as Na Son Dong Phu, located in Xuan Du commune, Thanh Hoa province, is becoming a focal point of attention during the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026. Situated against the majestic Nua mountain range, the temple attracts visitors not only with its natural scenery but also with the traditional spiritual values ​​preserved through generations.

Phu Na Temple is located at the foot of Nua Mountain – home to the famous Tien Shrine and sacred burial site. According to representatives from Xuan Du commune, by the end of February 21st (the 5th day of the Lunar New Year), approximately 50,000 visitors had flocked to the temple. Notably, on the 5th day alone, the number of visitors reached 20,000, creating an unusually crowded scene.

Thanks to favorable weather, people from all over the provinces and cities have chosen Phu Na as the starting point for their spring excursions. Not only to enjoy the scenery, most visitors come here hoping to pray for health and prosperity for their families in the new year.

Experience asking for "holy water" at the sacred waterfall.

One of the most distinctive activities at Phu Na is the ritual of requesting "holy water." The water is collected from a small waterfall located on a hill, about 500 meters from the main temple area. According to folk belief, using this water to wash one's face or bringing it home will bring good luck.

Observations show that tens of thousands of people patiently lined up, inching forward step by step to reach the waterfall area. Many even brought cans and plastic bottles to carry water home. Despite the massive influx of people, which caused parking lots to be packed and pathways to become congested, the atmosphere of pilgrimage remained one of reverence.
