As a purely agricultural mountainous commune in Region II with many difficulties, Thanh Huong is a difficult area of ​​Thanh Chuong district. In the 2015 - 2020 term, closely following the targets and tasks set out by the Resolution of the Commune Party Congress and the resolutions and projects of the district to concretize them closely to the local situation, with the close, specific and drastic leadership and direction of the Party Committee, the government and the participation of the Fatherland Front, organizations, and the consensus of the people, Thanh Huong commune has created a change in socio-economics, national defense - security, Party building and the political system.

Regarding economic highlights, comrade Nguyen Van Tien - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee said that the locality has focused on leading and directing the conversion of some acacia planting areas to tea planting to increase the area from nearly 140 hectares at the beginning of the term to more than 240 hectares now.

Along with that, people are encouraged to promote the application of science and technology, especially investing in irrigation systems, to ensure good growth of tea trees. In the past 3 years, the area of ​​tea burned by drought in Thanh Huong has decreased significantly, thereby helping to increase people's income; on average, each hectare of tea, if well cared for, will bring farmers 140 - 160 million VND/year.

The Party Committee and the government of Thanh Huong commune have also directed the conversion of some acacia growing areas to growing fruit trees with economic value such as oranges, grapefruits, jackfruits, seedless persimmons, etc. Rice is focused on converting the structure of varieties with high quality and productivity, with the spring crop alone achieving a hybrid rice variety structure of 94%. The locality has also promoted the use of machinery in production from land preparation to rice harvesting with a total of 44 machines in the area.

Livestock farming is oriented to develop in a concentrated, large-scale manner (currently, the commune has 18 effective economic models of farms and mixed farms); accordingly, the total herd size of buffaloes, cows, pigs, and poultry has increased compared to the beginning of the term.

Forest land area has been fully exploited, there is no longer bare hilly land; some advantageous areas have been converted from growing raw materials to growing industrial crops, initially changing the mindset and awareness in managing and exploiting forestry land.

Although people's lives are still full of difficulties, thanks to perseverance, being close to the people, sticking to the people to implement; promoting democratic regulations well, all policies are transparently publicized to the people; Thanh Huong has mobilized people to participate in building new rural areas through donating land, assets, contributing working days and money to build new rural areas together with other resources.

Accordingly, the rural traffic system, intra-field traffic, medical stations, schools, and lighting systems have been gradually invested in, upgraded, and renovated, creating a new look for the countryside. Up to this point, Thanh Huong has completed 13/19 criteria and 1 hamlet has met the NTM standards. In the 4 years from 2016 to 2019, the total mobilized capital from society reached more than 64 billion VND, of which the people contributed nearly 6 billion VND.

The cultural and social fields continue to receive attention and direction from the Party Committee and the government. During the term, Thanh Huong has successfully built more junior high schools that meet national standards and currently all three schools have met the standards. The locality has promoted and mobilized the people's spiritual and cultural life and health training to improve. National defense and security are taken care of through promoting the self-management role of inter-family groups and each village.

Comrade Phan Ba ​​Hoang - Secretary of Thanh Huong Commune Party Committee said that the results achieved in the past term of the locality affirmed the effectiveness of the Party Committee's comprehensive care for Party building. Especially in overcoming conservative thinking, fear of difficulties, slow innovation among cadres, party members, and people; strengthening inspection and supervision to urge and resolve difficulties and problems, including correcting limitations and weaknesses, contributing to improving the capacity and effectiveness of leadership and direction of Party committees and implementation organization of the government and political system.

Mass mobilization work has contributed to creating consensus and strengthening the great national unity bloc to carry out local political tasks. The activities of the Fatherland Front and mass organizations are substantial and practical on the basis of closely following local political tasks to participate, such as supporting people to build houses; developing economic models; environmental sanitation...

Thanh Huong Commune Party Committee Secretary Phan Ba ​​Hoang also shared more, comparing the general development of localities, especially on the basis of the results of the past term, in the period of 2020 - 2025, the Commune Party Committee is determined to lead and direct the locality to reach the NTM finish line by 2022 or 2023.

And the goal of completing the NTM program requires leadership, direction, and synchronous and effective implementation in all aspects of economy, culture - society, national defense - security, Party building and the political system from the Party Committee, government and political system.

Priority is given to the sustainable implementation of strong impact criteria that contribute to improving people's lives, especially increasing income through strong transformation of crop structure, increasing value per unit area, developing livestock farming in the direction of concentrated farms and households; building "green - clean - beautiful - peaceful neighborhoods"...
