The song "Red Flower Color" was composed by the late musician Thuan Yen in 1991, set to music from the poem "The Time of Red Flowers" by poet Nguyen Duc Mau. The song evokes memories of a time when he and his comrades endured bombing and shelling. In 1994, "Red Flower Color" won an award from the Vietnam Musicians Association and the "Outstanding Song" award from the Ministry of National Defense.

Thanh Lam recounted that she still remembers the time her father took her to the Voice of Vietnam radio station to record this song. He explained each lyric and sang it acapella for her. "The image of the poor soldier leaving his hometown for the battlefield, the elderly mother with gray hair standing in the twilight waiting for her son... always haunts me," Thanh Lam said.

The Peace Story 5 also features singers: Tan Minh, Hong Nhung, Doan Trang, Ha Anh Tuan, Phuong Linh, Dong Nhi, Quoc Thien, Truc Nhan, Hoang Quyen, Duong Hoang Yen, Dong Hung, the OPlus group, and guest musician Truong Quy Hai.
