Young man tricked and sold to Cambodia by female massage parlor employee.
After more than an hour of drinking and eating, the group of five tied up and restrained Mr. P., then transported him across the border into Cambodia to sell him to a business.
On August 15th, the Quang Binh Provincial Police announced that their investigative department had received a report from Mr. NVP (born in 1995, residing in Hai Thanh Ward, Dong Hoi City) regarding being tricked and sold to Cambodia by a female massage parlor employee.
According to Mr. P.'s report, around April 2021, he coincidentally met a woman named Linh who worked as a massage therapist at a hotel in Dong Hoi City.
After some time, even though Linh returned to Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. P. still regularly kept in touch through Facebook's messenger application.

On April 5th, Linh arranged to meet Mr. P. by bus to Ho Chi Minh City, and then travel to Long An province. They had a meal and drinks together with five of Linh's friends (four men and one woman), all around 30 years old.
After about an hour of drinking and eating, the group tied up and restrained Mr. P. Two men in the group then transported him across the border into Cambodia at night via a trail on a motorbike and sold him to a business.
Here, the business owner forced Mr. P. to commit acts of fraud and embezzlement online by setting up multiple fake Facebook accounts to befriend, message, entice, and deceive Vietnamese people into depositing money into online gambling applications and websites, and becoming collaborators for e-commerce platforms like Shopee and Lazada.
By the end of May, workers at the same facility where Mr. P. worked organized a protest and strike. As a result, many escaped and were discovered, arrested, and deported back to Vietnam by Cambodian authorities.
The case has now been taken up by the police and is under investigation.
