Young men used a tractor-trailer to transport 110 mortars.

On the morning of January 24, 2018, the Quang Trung ward police in Vinh City, in coordination with the Vinh City police's specialized teams, apprehended a case involving the smuggling of a large quantity of fireworks.

Following a period of surveillance, in the early morning of January 24, 2018, on National Highway 1A, the Vinh bypass section in Nghi Van commune, Nghi Loc district, a task force from Quang Trung ward police and other professional teams of Vinh city police inspected a tractor-trailer with license plate 81C 096.30.

Driver Pham Van Hai (born 1987), residing in An Khe town, Gia Lai province, was driving in the South-North direction. Also in the vehicle was Pham Thanh Hung (born 1998), residing at the same address. At the time of inspection, police discovered 110 foreign-made artillery shells weighing a total of 142 kg inside the truck's cabin.

Authorities have confiscated all of the fireworks and handed them over to the Vinh City Police for further action.

On the same day, the police in Thai Hoa town successfully cracked case 118P, arresting Dang Ngoc Tuan Anh (born in 1989), residing in Tan Son block, Hoa Hieu ward, Thai Hoa town, and seizing 262 kg of various types of fireworks and one truck.

According to the details of the case, at 10:00 AM on January 24th, while traveling through Quang Phong ward, Thai Hoa town, Dang Ngoc Tuan Anh was stopped by Thai Hoa town police for inspection.

Upon inspection, the Thai Hoa town police discovered 154 rectangular boxes of firecrackers in the truck, each box bearing foreign writing, containing 36 firecrackers and weighing 262 kg.

The police in Thai Hoa town have arrested Dang Ngoc Tuan Anh and seized the evidence.
