Ho Chi Minh City provides 7 billion VND to Nghe An province to help overcome the consequences of Typhoon No. 10.

On the afternoon of October 6th, at the Nghe An Provincial Military Command, a delegation from Ho Chi Minh City, led by Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, and Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor, presented 7 billion VND to support the people of Nghe An in overcoming the damage caused by Typhoon No. 10.

On behalf of the delegation, the Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Bui Thanh Nhan, expressed his emotion at being in Nghe An to visit and encourage the people after the heavy losses caused by the storms and floods.

Over the years, Ho Chi Minh City has repeatedly stood shoulder to shoulder with the people of Central Vietnam in general, and Nghe An province in particular, during natural disasters and floods. Each trip, each act of support, whether large or small, is clear evidence of the spirit of "For the whole country, together with the whole country" that the city always strives for.

With the special affection that Ho Chi Minh City has for his homeland, during the days of raging storms, the Party Committee, government, and people of Ho Chi Minh City always keep a close eye on Central Vietnam, especially Nghe An.

Since the beginning of the year, officials and citizens of Ho Chi Minh City have made three donations to Nghe An province to help overcome the consequences of natural disasters. The total amount of support in all three donations is 15 billion VND. Of that, this latest donation, to help the people of Nghe An recover from Typhoon No. 10, is 7 billion VND.

Besides providing cash support, during periods when Nghe An was affected by natural disasters, the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City directed departments, agencies, and socio-political organizations to implement many practical and direct support activities in Nghe An. For example, the City's Department of Health mobilized doctors and medical staff from many specialized hospitals to organize free medical examinations, distribute free medicine, provide guidance on disease prevention, and donate medical equipment and essential supplies to the people.

Other departments, agencies, and organizations have also worked alongside the people in repairing houses, supporting livelihoods, and awarding scholarships to children.

During the working session, representatives from the Ho Chi Minh City delegation presented 7 billion VND in aid to Nghe An province. Of this amount, 1 billion VND was allocated to support officers and soldiers of the armed forces in Nghe An province whose families were affected by Typhoon No. 10.

The delegation also visited the Lam Thanh Commune People's Committee and provided assistance for house repairs to 10 households (30 million VND/household), and gave each household a family medicine kit.

In particular, the delegation provided 60 million VND in assistance to the family of Ms. Trinh Thi Xu (Hung Phuc 1 hamlet, Lam Thanh commune) - whose house was completely destroyed after typhoon No. 10.

Speaking at the reception ceremony, Comrade Kha Van Tam - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor, and representatives of the Lam Thanh commune leadership expressed their deep gratitude for the affection and concern shown by the Party Committee, government, and people of Ho Chi Minh City towards Nghe An.

Comrade Kha Van Tam also shared more about the heavy damage caused by the storms to the province. He also acknowledged the heartfelt support from agencies, organizations, philanthropists, and more than 20 charitable groups from Ho Chi Minh City who directly assisted Nghe An during the province's natural disasters.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee affirmed that resources will be promptly allocated to support the people in the affected areas so that they can stabilize their lives as soon as possible.
