Vinh City officially renovates sidewalks to create parking spaces for cars.

In order to minimize traffic congestion, ensure traffic safety and order, and improve urban aesthetics, Vinh City has recently been piloting the renovation of sidewalks to create parking spaces for cars.

There are a total of 3 roads with sidewalks being piloted for renovation: Le Mao Street, the section from the City Tax Office to the Vinh City Party Committee; Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street, the section from the Department of Justice to the gas station; and Le Hong Phong Street, the section crossing Hoa Sen Kindergarten and the section crossing the Department of Transport.These stretches of road have wide, spacious sidewalks, but they are frequently crowded with cars parked densely on both sides.

Currently, Vinh City will pilot the renovation of 4 sections of sidewalks on 3 streets with a total budget of approximately 10 billion VND. With a total sidewalk length of 760m to be renovated, upon completion, it will create parking spaces for 106 cars.

In reality, Vinh City, with its relatively rapid development as a Class I urban area, has an increasing number of buildings, office complexes, shopping centers, entertainment areas, supermarkets, etc.; while the living standards of the people are constantly improving, parking has become an urgent need.

Due to the limited land available for constructing parking lots, many vehicle owners are forced to park in areas without designated parking spaces, causing traffic congestion and detracting from urban aesthetics.

Therefore, there is a need for facilities that meet the demand for car parking. And renovating sidewalks to build car parking lots on streets is a feasible solution to this problem.
