Vinh City officially renovated sidewalks to make parking lots for cars

In order to reduce traffic congestion, ensure traffic order and safety, and create urban beauty, in recent days, Vinh city has piloted sidewalk renovation to create car parking lots.

There are 3 routes with sidewalks being piloted for renovation, including: Le Mao Street, from the City Tax Department to Vinh City Party Committee; Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street, from the Department of Justice to the gas station; Le Hong Phong Street, across Hoa Sen Kindergarten and across the Department of Transport.These roads have wide, open sidewalks, but are often crowded with cars parked on both sides of the road.

Regarding the construction plan, on the sidewalk to be renovated, there will be pDismantle existing curb and sidewalk structures and convert them into parking lots.After demolition, the sidewalk elevation is lowered with a width from the edge of the road surface to 3m.converted into a parking lot. In addition, at car parking lots, the existing drainage ditches will be replaced with reinforced concrete ditches; surface water collection pits will be replaced, curbs will be replaced, decorative electric poles and low-voltage electric poles will be relocated, signs will be installed and painted lines will be drawn according to regulations.. Simultaneously, will remove the old flower pot, design a new concrete flower pot, plant Passionflower in the pot to create landscape.

According to the representative of the Vinh City Urban Management Department, renovating sidewalks to create car parking spots is one of the solutions toMinimize traffic congestion, encroachment on roadsides and sidewalks, ensure traffic safety, urban beauty and order.Vinh city. This solution has been planned to be implemented.in 2017, however, it was only implemented this year.

Currently, Vinh city will pilot the renovation of 4 sidewalk sections on 3 streets with a total cost of about 10 billion VND. With a total length of sidewalk to be renovated of 760m, when completed, it will create parking spaces for 106 cars.

In reality, Vinh city with the rapid development speed of a Type I urban area, constructions, office buildings, shopping centers, entertainment areas, supermarkets... are increasing; while people's lives are improving day by day, parking and parking cars has become an urgent need.

Due to limited land for parking lots, many vehicle owners have no place to park their vehicles and have to park in areas without designated parking lines, causing traffic congestion and loss of urban aesthetics.

Therefore, there is a need for constructions that can meet the demand for parking. And improving sidewalks and building parking lots on the streets is a feasible solution to this problem.
