Vinh City officially launched its pedestrian street on the evening of April 8th.

Vinh City People's CommitteeThe People's Committee of Vinh City recently issued official document No. 1954/UBND/QLĐT dated April 5th regarding the organization of traffic on the pedestrian streets of Vinh City.

Accordingly, to implement the pilot project for organizing pedestrian streets in Vinh City, the Vinh City People's Committee has assigned the City's Culture, Sports and Communications Center and the People's Committees of wards and communes to widely disseminate information to all citizens, agencies, and organizations in the area about the traffic organization plan for Vinh City's pedestrian streets and the locations of parking areas... when participating in activities on the pedestrian streets.

Traffic diversion time: From 7:00 PM to 11:30 PM every Friday and Saturday, starting from April 8, 2022.

The traffic diversion routes include: Ho Tung Mau Street (section from Nai Bridge to Tran Huy Lieu Street (extended); Nguyen Van Cu Street (section from the intersection with Ho Tung Mau Street to the intersection with Le Hong Phong Street); Nguyen Tai Street (section from the intersection with Ho Tung Mau Street to the intersection with Nguyen Van Cu Street).

Traffic flow management during the period when the pedestrian street is open will be implemented according to the approved plan and traffic management by the Vinh City Police.

Parking areas serving the pedestrian street include: Provincial Labor Culture House (for cars and motorbikes); Giao Te Hotel (for cars); Le Mao Street sidewalk (for motorbikes); Ho Chi Minh Square (for cars and motorbikes); Le Hong Phong Street sidewalk (for motorbikes); Ho Tung Mau Street sidewalk - in front of the Provincial Inspectorate (for motorbikes). These parking areas serving the pedestrian street are located in the following wards: Truong Thi, Le Mao, Hung Phuc, and Hung Binh.

Vinh CityThe People's Committees of Truong Thi, Le Mao, Hung Phuc, and Hung Binh wards are tasked with reviewing and coordinating with relevant units to ensure the availability of parking spaces for the pedestrian street; working with the Giao Te Hotel and the Labor Culture House to provide space for parking during the pedestrian street's operating hours and arranging for parking attendants to serve the pedestrian street. Preparations must be completed before April 7, 2021.

Previously, Vinh City had planned to conduct a trial run of the pedestrian street on the evening of April 1st; however, due to unfavorable weather conditions, the trial run had to be postponed.
