Vinh City joins hands to clean up Cua Lo beach.
On the morning of April 13th, at Cua Lo beach, the People's Committee of Vinh City organized the launching ceremony of the campaign "For a green, clean, and beautiful Cua Lo beach environment".
Attending the ceremony were representatives from the Departments of Agriculture & Environment; Culture, Sports and Tourism; leaders of the Vinh City People's Committee, along with a large number of forces and people from wards and communes in the city.

The event aims to raise public awareness about marine environmental protection, promoting sustainable development and green tourism for this coastal city in Central Vietnam.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Quang Lam, Vice Chairman of the Vinh City People's Committee, emphasized: Vinh City is currently a coastal city, which presents both opportunities and challenges for overall development. Protecting the marine environment is not only an urgent task in the face of climate change and waste pollution challenges, but also a vital factor for the economic development, tourism, and quality of life of the city's residents.

"Let's start with small actions like not littering, limiting the use of single-use plastics, to together preserve the beauty of Cua Lo beach..."
Mr. Tran Quang Lam - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Vinh City
Also at the ceremony, the leaders of Vinh City presented three key solutions to protect Cua Lo beach: Firstly, effectively implementing policies and guidelines on environmental protection, especially in waste treatment and greenhouse gas emission reduction; Secondly, strengthening the management and control of coastal pollution sources, investing in wastewater treatment infrastructure, and protecting and regenerating marine resources; Thirdly, promoting public awareness and education on preserving the marine environment, transforming awareness into concrete actions in daily life.

For the public, it is necessary to actively participate in environmental sanitation activities and environmental protection movements such as Green Sunday, the fight against plastic waste, etc.; implement waste sorting at source, limit and eventually eliminate the use of non-biodegradable plastic bags and single-use plastic items.
Many activities were implemented immediately after the launching ceremony, such as cleaning up along the beach, collecting plastic waste, launching the "Green Sunday" movement for the whole community, and a bicycle parade for the marine environment of Cua Lo...

With enthusiastic participation and the concerted efforts of all levels of government, sectors, and the people, the campaign for the Cua Lo marine environment not only contributed to cleaning up the tourist area but also spread the message of green and sustainable living to the community. This is the beginning of a long journey towards the goal of building Cua Lo - Vinh City into an increasingly civilized, modern, and environmentally friendly coastal city.
