(Baonghean.vn) On the morning of December 26th, the Vinh City Party Committee held a conference to summarize Party building work in 2016 and to implement tasks for 2017.

Attending the conference were Comrade Vo Viet Thanh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Vinh City Party Committee; representatives from the Party building departments of the Provincial Party Committee and a number of departments and agencies; and leaders of the Party committees of affiliated grassroots Party organizations.

In 2016, from the City Party Committee to the grassroots Party committees, the focus was on implementing and putting the resolutions of the Party Congress at all levels into practice. The central task was leading the socio-economic development and national defense and security. The city completed 21 out of 23 key socio-economic targets.

The city has also focused its leadership on resolving issues related to land use right certificates; combating traffic congestion; managing urban order; decisively clearing land for important projects, especially the Vinh Urban Development Sub-project; and resolving complaints and denunciations from citizens.

Party building work continued to receive attention; the Party's leadership role was affirmed quite comprehensively in all aspects. The activities of the political system and the guidance and management of the government at all levels saw many innovations, creating high unity within the Party organization and consensus among the people. In 2016, 52 subordinate Party branches were classified as Clean and Strong.

Concluding the conference, Comrade Vo Viet Thanh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Vinh City Party Committee - emphasized: The city is focusing on building an economic and cultural center for the North Central region. Therefore, alongside leading economic development, it is necessary to improve infrastructure, urban order, and the environment, and address issues related to old residential areas and the Quang Trung apartment complex. Emphasis should be placed on upgrading cultural, educational, and medical facilities with the goal of serving the people and promoting urban culture and civilization.

In Party building, the implementation of the Central Resolution No. 4 of the 12th Party Congress is linked to the formulation of specific action programs; the Resolution on reforming the growth model, green growth, and growth associated with ensuring sustainability; effectively implementing integration and ensuring political stability in the context of integration; and the Politburo's Directive No. 05 on studying and following the thoughts, style, and ethics of Ho Chi Minh.

Innovate working styles, be more responsible, closer to the people and more for the people; improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the government apparatus at all levels, and build Vinh City into a civilized and modern city.

Comrade Nguyen Van Lu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Vinh City Party Committee - presented certificates of commendation to Party members who had excellently fulfilled their duties for five consecutive years.

On this occasion, the Vinh City Party Committee awarded Certificates of Commendation to 13 Party Committees under the City Party Committee that achieved outstanding performance in 2016 and 9 Party branches under the grassroots Party Committees that achieved outstanding performance for 5 consecutive years; and 50 Party members who excellently completed their tasks for 5 consecutive years.
