Vinh City held a meeting with several media outlets.

On the morning of November 8th, the Standing Committee of the Vinh City Party Committee held a working session with several media agencies in the area to discuss coordination in disseminating information about key political tasks in the coming period.

Comrade Nguyen Van Lu, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Vinh City Party Committee, chaired the meeting. Also present were representatives from local media agencies and various departments of the city.

In 2024, Vinh City implemented its socio-economic development tasks amidst an economic downturn, a sharp decline in the real estate market, and difficulties in investment, trade, and services, all of which affected production, business, and people's lives. Nevertheless, the city's socio-economic development remained fundamentally stable, achieving many important results.

The city's economic growth rate reached 9.6%, and its economic structure shifted in the right direction. Revenue collection measures were implemented decisively and synchronously from the beginning of the year, exceeding the provincial target and showing significant growth compared to the same period last year. To date, 8 out of 9 communes have been recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as achieving "Advanced New Rural Area" standards, with Nghi Lien commune achieving "Model New Rural Area" standards. The city has 64 products recognized as OCOP products.

The city continues to direct support measures to stimulate the economic development of Vinh City and promote the night-time economy; focusing on solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles, creating a favorable business environment for the development of all economic sectors, and promoting investment attraction. During the year, 823 new businesses and 3,400 business households were established.

Urban management, land use, environmental protection, and basic infrastructure investment have achieved many positive results.

The total number of targets for socio-economic development, Party building, government, Fatherland Front and people's organizations according to the Resolution of the 24th City Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term is 24 targets (19 socio-economic targets; 5 targets on Party building and the political system).

To date, after 4 years of implementation, 21 out of 24 targets have been met or exceeded. Specifically, 17 out of 19 key targets related to socio-economic development, national defense, and security have been achieved; 2 targets have not met the plan; 4 out of 5 targets related to Party building, government, the Fatherland Front, and people's organizations have been met or are likely to be met; 1 target has not been met (the target regarding the qualifications of specialized officials at the commune level).

At the meeting, Comrade Phan Minh Tuan, Head of the Propaganda Department of Vinh City Party Committee, provided an overview of the current situation of Vinh City after expansion and mergers. Accordingly, after adjusting administrative boundaries and reorganizing and establishing wards, the city has a natural area of ​​166.25 km2; comprising 33 wards and communes; including 24 wards and 9 communes. Of these, 4 communes have been upgraded to wards according to the provincial plan, namely: Hung Dong, Hung Loc, Nghi Duc, and Nghi Phu.

The newly restructured Vinh City Party Committee is expected to have 120 affiliated grassroots party organizations (33 ward and commune party committees; 22 agency party committees; and 65 grassroots party branches), with a total of 895 affiliated party branches and 31,626 party members.

At the meeting, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Vinh City Party Committee approved the plan for disseminating information about the Party Congresses at all levels and the 25th Vinh City Party Congress.

During the meeting, media agencies also provided feedback on the content and format of propaganda; proposed solutions regarding the focal point for providing information and propaganda about the 25th Congress of the Vinh City Party Committee; and outlined specific content and objectives for propaganda regarding the merger and the implementation of Resolution No. 16-NQ/TU.

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Van Lu acknowledged and thanked the press and media agencies for their attention and support for the city. He expressed his hope that the press agencies would continue to cooperate with the city in the future, focusing on promoting the dissemination of three key areas: Resolution No. 16-NQ/TU of the Provincial Party Committee on "Building and developing Vinh City until 2030, with a vision to 2045"; the plan to expand the administrative boundaries and urban space of the city; and the reorganization of commune-level administrative units in the area.

Focus on disseminating information about the main goals, targets, tasks, and solutions set forth in the Resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term, and the 5-year socio-economic development plan for the 2021-2025 period. Summarize activities in 2024; develop plans for 2025 and the 25th Congress of the Vinh City Party Committee.
The city has taken note of the opinions of the press agencies and stated that it will periodically organize information exchanges to ensure that press agencies focus on effectively disseminating information about political tasks in the area.
