The city of Vinh is holding a vote of confidence for 23 people holding positions elected by the City People's Council.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 3rd, the 22nd term of the Vinh City People's Council, 2021-2026, held its 10th session to conduct a vote of confidence for 23 individuals holding positions elected or approved by the City People's Council.
Mr. Phan Duc Dong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Vinh City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vinh City People's Council; and Mr. Nguyen Tat Son - Vice Chairman of the Vinh City People's Council, presided over the meeting.
In his opening remarks at the session, Mr. Phan Duc Dong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Vinh City Party Committee, and Chairman of the Vinh City People's Council, emphasized: Organizing a vote of confidence for those holding positions elected by the Vinh City People's Council is an important supervisory method of the City People's Council, contributing to evaluating the prestige and performance of assigned tasks and powers of those being evaluated; helping those being evaluated understand their level of trust so they can continue to strive, improve, and enhance the quality and effectiveness of their work; and serving as a basis for considering appropriate planning, training, development, placement, and utilization of cadres.
The Chairman of the Vinh City People's Council requested that, based on the reports of those being evaluated, combined with information gathered from public opinion, feedback from voters and the people, and personal monitoring and supervision, the city's People's Council representatives should uphold their responsibility and constructive spirit to conduct the confidence vote for positions elected by the City People's Council in a fair, objective, and accurate manner.
The vote of confidence for office holders elected or approved by the City People's Council is conducted in accordance with Resolution No. 96/2023/QH15, dated June 23, 2023, of the National Assembly, in the form of a secret ballot.
At the 10th session, 35 city council delegates directly cast votes of confidence for 23 individuals holding positions elected or approved by the city council, belonging to the two blocs of the city council and the city government.
The City People's Council consists of four members: the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the City People's Council; the Head of the Economic and Social Affairs Committee and the Head of the Legal Affairs Committee of the City People's Council.
The City People's Committee consists of 19 people: the Chairman and 4 Vice-Chairmen of the City People's Committee; and 14 members of the City People's Committee who are heads of departments, sectors, and city-level agencies.
Following the voting and vote counting, the City People's Council voted to approve the Resolution confirming the results of the confidence vote for those holding positions elected by the Vinh City People's Council, 22nd term, 2021-2026.
