Vinh City launches the Spring Tree Planting Festival 2025 (Year of the Snake).
On February 3rd (the 6th day of the Lunar New Year), the People's Committee of Vinh City organized a tree-planting ceremony to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh and celebrate the Party and the Spring Festival of the Year of the Snake 2025, in the residential land planning area of Block 2, Ben Thuy Ward.
Comrade Phan Duc Dong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, along with leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee and other mass organizations, wards, communes, and relevant units of Vinh City, attended the ceremony.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, the leaders, along with a large number of officials, civil servants, armed forces personnel, youth union members, and citizens of Vinh City, planted rows of sandalwood trees on the sidewalks of the planned area's streets.
On this occasion, the People's Committee of Vinh City also called on departments, units, wards, communes, and the city's residents to actively participate in planting, caring for, protecting, and developing green trees in office grounds, especially in the city center, towns, and tourist destinations.
This aims to raise awareness among all segments of the population regarding the protection of the green environment in the face of climate change. At the same time, the program contributes to the effective implementation of the Government's plan to plant one billion trees in the 2021-2025 period and the goal of planting 100 million new trees set by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in the 2021-2025 period.
The 2025 tree planting festival also serves as an occasion to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam and to welcome the Party Congresses at all levels, including the 25th Party Congress of Vinh City for the 2025-2030 term.
