Vinh City launches campaign for irrigation and environmental sanitation.
(Baonghean.vn) - The launching ceremony was held on the morning of October 14th in Hung Loc commune, Vinh City.
Over the years, Vinh City has been significantly affected by natural disasters, storms, and floods, leading to severe flooding and pollution in roads and residential areas. Therefore, the city has always paid special attention to irrigation and drainage work.

In launching this year's irrigation campaign, Vinh City aims to provide good support for the 2018 winter crop and the 2018-2019 winter-spring crop; while also combating flooding and environmental pollution in residential areas and neighborhoods; creating a regular, widespread movement to be ready to respond to any storm or flood situation.
Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Le Sy Chien - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Vinh City - requested that localities seriously implement irrigation work, mobilize all sectors of the population to participate, create a large-scale movement and maintain it regularly, especially to avoid superficial work that could lead to flooding, pollution and difficulties in handling when natural disasters or heavy rains occur.

The People's Committee of Vinh City has assigned specific targets for the volume of excavation, dredging, and reinforcement of irrigation canals in agricultural and urban areas, as well as environmental sanitation, to all 25 wards and communes in the city.
On this occasion, Vinh City awarded Certificates of Commendation to organizations and individuals who had achieved outstanding results in implementing the 2017 nationwide campaign for irrigation work.

Following the launching ceremony, thousands of people across the wards and communes gathered to clean up the streets, dredge and clear waterways in the fields, participate in repairing irrigation works, building embankments, and maintaining damaged machinery and equipment at pumping stations...
During the 2017 campaign to mobilize the entire population for irrigation work, Vinh City excavated and dredged a total of 12,732 meters of canals.3 land clearing, grass cutting, and removal of aquatic plants on 15,471 m².2, built a total of 3199 m3 Land along field boundaries and plots... This is the foundation for localities to strive for even better results this year.
