Vinh City will have a second regulating lake in Hung Hoa
(Baonghean.vn) - The People's Committee of Nghe An province has just signed a decision approving the detailed construction planning task at a scale of 1/500 for the Hung Hoa 2 Reservoir project in Hung Hoa commune, Vinh city.
Nghe An province has signed a decision approving the detailed construction planning task at a scale of 1/500 for the Hung Hoa 2 Reservoir project in Hung Hoa commune, Vinh city.
According to this decision, the planning area is 137 hectares, with boundaries: North borders Nguyen Sy Sach Street; South borders 40m wide planned road; East borders 35m wide planned road; West borders 24m wide planned road.

The project aims to reduce urban flooding, improve ecology and environment, connect water flow and storage systems, enhance climate change adaptation, and develop urban areas in a sustainable direction.
At the same time, developing the park along with surrounding green functional areas contributes to perfecting the architectural space and landscape of the eastern area of Vinh City, ensuring safety and sustainability against natural disasters.
Hung Hoa 2 Lake has 3 main functional areas including: Lake; Thematic Park; Tourism, fitness and sports area.

Vinh City currently has a regulating lake in Hung Hoa commune, Vinh City with an area of 53 hectares, including 40 hectares of water surface. In 2017, this regulating lake was officially put into use, it is considered the "green lung" of Vinh City.
The continued construction of the Hung Hoa 2 Reservoir project is expected to bring people in Vinh City and surrounding areas the opportunity to live in a green environment and prevent flooding in the city.
The planning of this regulating lake is part of the Project “Priority infrastructure and urban development adapting to climate change in Vinh city, Nghe An province”. The total investment of the project is 168 million USD, equivalent to 3,903 billion VND, which has been approved.
