Vinh City: Three more one-way streets will be added during rush hour.
(Baonghean.vn) - In a meeting on the afternoon of June 13th, Vinh City decided to implement one-way traffic on roads such as Hai Thuong Lan Ong, Phung Chi Kien, and Tran Quang Dieu during peak hours.

| On the afternoon of June 13th, the Vinh City Party Committee held a meeting to evaluate the results of clearing the safety corridors for roads, railways, and sidewalks. Comrade Vo Viet Thanh, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and Secretary of the Vinh City Party Committee, presided over the meeting. |
At the meeting, units, wards, and communes raised a number of difficulties and obstacles in clearing sidewalks and traffic safety corridors.
The most prominent examples include key areas such as the area in front of the Nghe An Provincial General Hospital, Nguyen Trung Ngan Street, Dang Thai Mai Street, Nguyen Van Cu Street, Le Hong Phong Street, Le Duan Street, Tran Phu Street, Quang Trung Street, Dinh Cong Trang Street, Ngu Hai Street, Ho Tung Mau Street, Lenin Street, and the Nghe Tinh Soviet Street… On these streets, people continuously re-encroach on sidewalks and traffic safety corridors for trading and parking cars and motorbikes.

Furthermore, at many construction sites, people dump materials onto sidewalks and roads, causing urban blight and obstructing traffic safety, yet no authorities take action. On most main roads, at night, people set up stalls and shops, completely encroaching on sidewalks meant for pedestrians.
| In May 2017, authorities in Vinh City continued to intensify efforts to clear sidewalks and traffic safety corridors. The city organized over 195 operations to remove violations, confiscating 250 advertising signs placed on sidewalks and roads; clearing 45 cases of illegal street vending; and dealing with 25 locations where construction materials and goods were stockpiled. They also demolished 5 temporary structures, carports, and 60 cases of curb construction encroaching on sidewalks and roads. 117 administrative violation reports were filed, and 97 were processed, resulting in a total fine of over 115 million VND. |
After listening to the suggestions and proposals of the members of the Urban Order Steering Committee, the City Party Secretary requested that units, wards, and communes strengthen their forces to better carry out the work of clearing sidewalks and traffic safety corridors.

Continue to strengthen propaganda efforts, implement a plan for rotating personnel and urban order enforcement officers between wards and communes to avoid favoritism and ensure fairness in sidewalk clearance. At the same time, promptly implement the construction of dispersed parking areas; and paint lines to permit parking for cars and motorcycles on sidewalks with a width of 6-9 meters.
The Vinh City Party Committee also assigned the City People's Committee to study and implement one-way traffic on roads such as Hai Thuong Lan Ong, Phung Chi Kien, and Tran Quang Dieu during peak hours. Specifically: Hai Thuong Lan Ong road prohibits cars from traveling from Le Nin road to Ha Huy Tap road from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM (the section from the intersection with Ton That Thuyet road to Ha Huy Tap road); Phung Chi Kien road prohibits cars from traveling from Le Nin road to Ha Huy Tap road from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM (the section from the intersection with Tran Quang Khai road to Ha Huy Tap road); Tran Quang Dieu road prohibits cars from traveling from Dao Duy Tu road to Phan Dang Luu road (the section from the intersection with Dao Duy Tu road to Phan Dang Luu road).
Previously, Vinh City had two one-way streets operating at all hours: Dinh Cong Trang and Ngu Hai.
