Vinh City temporarily suspends operations at 4 local markets.

According to information from the leaders of Vinh City, in light of the complex developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, the city has decided...temporarily suspend operationsFour markets, including: the wholesale market associated with Tay Vinh communal house; Tru - Hung Hoa market, Quang Trung market, and Cua Bac market, will open starting tomorrow (June 27).

Reportedly, these markets have had COVID-19 cases among their vendors, posing a high risk of disease transmission. All vendors in these four markets have been tested.

For the remaining 22 markets that are allowed to operate, however, strict disease prevention measures must be implemented as directed, including: Disinfecting and sterilizing the market area; only allowing one entrance and one exit, and deploying personnel to guard other entrances and exits; prohibiting customers and vendors from entering or exiting through unauthorized entrances; setting up points for selling face masks, organizing temperature checks, and requiring hand sanitization for all vendors and customers entering the market.

The city is planning to conduct testing for all traders at the 22 markets that are permitted to operate. Additionally, if the pandemic situation worsens, the city will implement a plan to issue market access cards to each household every two days to minimize large gatherings at the markets.
