Vinh City promotes innovative entrepreneurship.

The following comrades attended the conference:Tran Quoc Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Science and Technology;Nguyen Van Lu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee; Tran Ngoc Tu - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vinh City People's Committee, along with representatives from provincial departments and agencies; business associations, units, departments and offices of the City People's Committee and leaders of wards and communes in the city.

In his opening remarks at the conference, Comrade Tran Ngoc Tu – Chairman of the Vinh City People's Committee – stated that Vinh City recognizes that innovative startups play a crucial role in the socio-economic development of the city in the coming period.

With the goal of building Vinh City into a civilized and modern city, a regional center of the North Central region in the fields of finance, trade, tourism, science and technology, information technology, high-tech industry, healthcare, culture, sports, education and training, this conference is a prerequisite marking the beginning of the development of the innovation and startup ecosystem in Vinh City.

Presenting at the conference, Ms. Thach Le Anh – Head of Technology Commercialization based on the Silicon Model in Vietnam, and a member of the advisory board of Project 844 on innovative startups of the Prime Minister – introduced the concepts of innovative thinking, the concept of startups, and building an innovative startup ecosystem.

In addition, Ms. Thach Le Anh also suggested proposals to the Vinh City People's Committee regarding promoting the formation and development of an innovative startup ecosystem, emphasizing the creation of workspaces for investors; and supporting businesses with preferential policies to attract more investors to the startup sector.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tran Quoc Thanh, Director of the Department of Science and Technology, stated that given the unique nature of a startup business, which typically takes 1-5 years, the city government needs to play a leading role and have more specific policies to support businesses each year.

The conference also received many opinions from delegates on issues such as: how businesses can access investors when they have a startup project; the methods and processes for partnering with investors, etc.

Mr. Tran Quang Lam, Vice Chairman of the Vinh City People's Committee, expressed his hope that in the coming time, all levels, sectors, experts, the business community, and especially innovative businesses in the area will continue to work together with the city to build a strong and thriving ecosystem. He also affirmed the city's role in building and developing the province's innovative startup ecosystem, reaching out and expanding cooperative relationships nationwide.

The project "Supporting the National Innovation and Startup Ecosystem until 2025" (Project 844), assigned by the Prime Minister to the Ministry of Science and Technology, aims to: Create a favorable environment for startup businesses; Promote and support the formation and development of businesses capable of rapid growth based on the exploitation of intellectual property, technology, and new business models; Improve the legal system; Expedite the completion of the legal system supporting innovation and startups; Establish a startup information portal; and Establish a national innovation and startup information portal.
