Vinh City helps Quynh Luu consume tens of tons of pineapples per day.
(Baonghean.vn)ButIn the Vinh City market today, pineapple is one of the most popular fruits because it is delicious, refreshing, and affordable for consumers.
Pineapples are a popular choice for many people to buy as a refreshing treat on hot days and to use in various dishes. Ms. Thuy Hang from Quang Trung ward, Vinh city, said: "I often buy pineapples, especially during the hot season. Pineapples are quite cheap; the vendor peels one for 8,000-10,000 VND, which is cheaper than other fruits and tastes very good."
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha, who has nearly 20 years of experience selling pineapples at Quang Trung market, said: "Each day I peel and sell 100-150 pineapples, depending on the weather. If it's sunny, I sell more; if it rains, the sales decrease. On average, I make a profit of 3,000-4,000 VND per pineapple, and if I'm lucky, I can earn 200,000-300,000 VND."

Vinh City has many markets, most of which sell pineapples, jackfruit, bananas, and other produce grown by farmers in Nghe An province. It is estimated that tens of tons of fruit are consumed daily in the city. At the agricultural market near Vinh Market alone, there are nearly 10 households selling pineapples.
Every day, wholesalers supply 30-40 tons of pineapples to retail markets in the city. Ms. Tam, who sells pineapples near Vinh market, said: "The pineapples are mainly imported from Quynh Luu and Nghia Dan districts. Compared to pineapples from other provinces, Quynh Luu pineapples are more beautiful and have a higher price, costing 5,000-6,000 VND per fruit when bought directly from the farm."

Pineapples contain vitamins B1, B2, C, phosphorus, iron, protein, lipids, carbohydrates, and fiber, all of which are nutritious for the body. Ripe pineapples have a pleasant aroma, a slightly sweet taste, and are easy to eat, so many people choose to buy them to eat raw or juice. Green pineapples are often stir-fried with beef or duck and used in sour soups.
