Vinh City is building public toilets on the pedestrian street.
(Baonghean.vn) - According to information from the leaders of Vinh City, the pedestrian streets are currently undergoing renovation and infrastructure upgrades, with the goal of putting them into operation by the upcoming New Year's Day 2020.
As reported by Nghe An Newspaper, Vinh City has officially selected four pedestrian streets, including: Ho Tung Mau Street (from Nai Bridge to the beginning of Nguyen Trung Ngan Street); Nguyen Van Cu Street (from Ho Tung Mau Street to Le Hong Phong Street); Nguyen Trung Ngan Street connecting to Alley No. 2 of Nguyen Trung Ngan Street, ending at the intersection with Nguyen Van Cu Street; and Nguyen Tai Street (from Ho Tung Mau to Nguyen Van Cu).

To put the pedestrian streets into operation as planned, Vinh City has developed a specific plan to upgrade and renovate these roads.
Specifically, along Ho Tung Mau street (from Nai bridge to the beginning of Nguyen Trung Ngan street), the sidewalks will be upgraded, curbs and drainage ditches will be renovated; the manhole and drainage system will be improved, and the clean water supply will be upgraded. Along this street, the city will install 117 new natural stone planters, place 58 stone benches for tourists, and install 29 trash cans evenly distributed throughout the street.
In addition, the city also repaired and renovated the road surface and connecting points, while installing electrical systems, streetlights, and decorative lights along this route.

Along Nguyen Van Cu Street (from Ho Tung Mau to Le Hong Phong), sidewalks, curbs, drainage ditches, manholes, and clean water supply systems will also be renovated. Simultaneously, the city will install 159 new natural stone planters, 53 stone benches for tourists, and 39 trash cans to ensure environmental cleanliness. Damaged sections of the road surface will also be repaired and rectified.

Nguyen Tai Street and Alley 2 of Nguyen Trung Ngan Street will be surveyed and designed with longitudinal and cross-sections to understand their current condition, thereby developing a reasonable upgrade plan. The road surface, road base, sidewalks, drainage ditches, manholes, and lighting system will also be renovated and upgraded in detail.
This road will be renovated with 56 new planters made of natural stone and 45 new trees planted in accordance with the plan. Notably, public restrooms will be constructed along Nguyen Tai Street.

The total investment for the pedestrian streets is over 33 billion VND, sourced from the city budget, including 13.3 billion VND for Ho Tung Mau street, 12 billion VND for Nguyen Van Cu street, and 8.2 billion VND for Nguyen Tai and Nguyen Trung Ngan streets.
We are currently focusing on upgrading the infrastructure of pedestrian streets, striving to complete the project on schedule so that the pedestrian streets can be operational by the Lunar New Year 2020. Before the official opening, the city will also conduct a "trial run" to assess the operational situation and promptly address any shortcomings, similar to the Cao Thang night street.
