What can we learn from the list of nominees for the 2019 Vietnamese Golden Ball award?
(Baonghean.vn) - Yesterday (December 16), the organizing committee of the 2019 Vietnam Golden Ball award announced the list of 25 nominated players. Tran Nguyen Manh, Que Ngoc Hai, Bui Tien Dung, Nguyen Trong Hoang, and Nguyen Cong Phuong are the five players from Nghe An province who received this honor.
This information comes as no surprise to football experts and fans in the country, as the five players mentioned above are all outstanding performers this season. Objectively speaking, they fully deserve to be on the list of 25 nominees, given their impressive performances.
However, despite the numerous nominees, the chances of Nghe An winning the 2019 Vietnamese Golden Ball are not very high. Simply put, none of them have performed exceptionally well at both club and national team levels, unlike the cases of Do Hung Dung, Nguyen Quang Hai, Doan Van Hau, etc.

Clearly, compared to Do Hung Dung, Nguyen Quang Hai, and Doan Van Hau, the individual achievements of the five players from Nghe An province are not as impressive. It's worth remembering that the three Hanoi FC players helped their team win the V.League 2019, the National Cup 2019, reach the inter-regional final of the AFC Cup 2019, and also excelled in their roles with the Vietnam U22 team (SEA Games 30) and the Vietnam national team (Asian Cup 2019, World Cup 2022 qualifiers).

It is almost certain that this year's Vietnamese Golden Ball award will be an internal competition among players from Hanoi FC. Football fans in Nghe An will have to wait a few more years for the seventh Golden Ball to go to a player from their hometown.
