Math teacher cheated people out of hundreds of millions of dong
"Bragging" that he had many connections and could get a job, Dang Xuan Thanh, a math teacher, defrauded and appropriated 200 million VND.
Previously, the authorities received a complaint from Mr. Luong Van Cau (residing in Ea H'leo district, Dak Lak province) about Mr. Thanh's fraud and appropriation of money.

Specifically, on September 16, 2017, Mr. Thanh and Mr. Cau (who had known each other before) made an appointment to meet in Ea H'leo district to discuss applying for a job for Mr. Cau's son.
Here, Mr. Thanh lied that he knew and had relatives working at the Department of Internal Affairs of Dak Lak province and the Provincial People's Committee, so he had the ability to decide on recruiting teachers to the payroll and teaching at schools in Buon Ma Thuot City. Mr. Thanh asked Mr. Cau to give him 200 million VND to cover the costs of relations and diplomacy. At the same time, he wrote a note promising that by early 2018 there would be a recruitment decision for Mr. Cau's son to work.
However, for a long time, Mr. Cau did not receive his son's recruitment decision, and Mr. Thanh appropriated all the money for personal use.After many times of asking for his money back but failing, Mr. Cau filed a complaint against Thanh to the police.
During the investigation, Mr. Thanh confessed his crime.
