Teacher jailed for illegal possession of drugs.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 29, the Ky Son District People's Court opened the first-instance trial of Phan Thanh Hoa, born in 1981, residing in Phu Kha 1 hamlet, Na Ngoi commune, Ky Son district, on the charge of "illegally possessing narcotics" as stipulated in point c, clause 1, Article 249 of the 2015 Penal Code.
According to the indictment of the Ky Son District People's Procuracy, at approximately 4 PM on December 23, 2017, Phan Thanh Hoa (a teacher at Na Ngoi Secondary School) hired a motorbike taxi from an unknown man to travel from Phu Kha 1 village, Na Ngoi commune (Ky Son district) to Luu Phong village, Luu Kien commune (Tuong Duong district) to buy drugs for personal use.

Upon arriving, Hoa met an unknown man and bought a packet of heroin from him for 300,000 VND. After purchasing the heroin, Hoa returned home to Phu Kha 1 village, Na Ngoi commune, used a small amount, and hid the rest on his person.
At approximately 6:00 AM on December 25, 2017, while Hoa was walking in the Phu Kha 1 village area, Na Ngoi commune, he was spotted and arrested by a task force from the Na Ngoi Border Guard Post - Nghe An Border Guard Command.
In court, the defendant honestly confessed and admitted to his crime.
Based on the analysis and evaluation of evidence and the prosecutor's recommendation, the Ky Son District People's Court sentenced Phan Thanh Hoa to 14 months in prison for the aforementioned crime.
