To evade law enforcement, the convicted murderer constantly changed his residence. Notably, by the time of his arrest, Nguyen Thanh Kiet was married and had a 7-year-old child.

On June 29th, the Criminal Fugitive Apprehension Department of the Lam Dong Provincial Police announced that they had coordinated with the Criminal Fugitive Apprehension Department of the Ministry of Public Security to arrest Nguyen Thanh Kiet (34 years old), residing on Dong Da Street, Da Lat City, who is a fugitive who committed murder and fled the area 12 years ago.

According to the case file, in June 2004, Nguyen Thanh Kiet had a conflict with Vu Van Cuong (then 17 years old), residing in Dong Thanh commune, Lam Ha district (Lam Dong province). When they met at a football field in Da Lat city, Nguyen Thanh Kiet and Vu Van Cuong got into a fight.

The suspect is Nguyen Thanh Kiet.

As a result, Vu Van Cuong was severely beaten with a stick by Nguyen Thanh Kiet and died at Lam Dong General Hospital. Upon hearing of Vu Van Cuong's death, Nguyen Thanh Kiet fled the area.

The Lam Dong Provincial Police subsequently issued an arrest warrant for Nguyen Thanh Kiet for murder and launched a special investigation to track down and apprehend him.

On June 27th, based on intelligence information, the Criminal Fugitive Apprehension Department of the Lam Dong Provincial Police, in coordination with the Criminal Fugitive Apprehension Department of the Ministry of Public Security, arrested Nguyen Thanh Kiet while he was hiding in Cho Hamlet, Tan Phu Trung Commune, Cu Chi District (Ho Chi Minh City).

According to the Criminal Fugitive Apprehension Department of the Lam Dong Provincial Police, since leaving Da Lat, this individual has constantly changed his residence to evade law enforcement. Notably, at the time of his arrest, Nguyen Thanh Kiet had gotten married and had a 7-year-old child.
