New French President Emmanuel Macron affirmed that Paris stands by London “more than ever,” according to the Guardian newspaper on June 4. Meanwhile, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also condemned the London attack and directed support to London through official channels.

Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said Australia's thoughts and prayers were with Britain, while Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said Canberra stood ready to help London deal with the attacks.

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker also expressed his condolences to the victims and their families in the London attacks.

“No one should be forced to live in fear, regardless of their race, religion or political beliefs,” said New Zealand Prime Minister Bill English.

US President Donald Trump earlier tweeted and offered support to the UK. The White House said Mr Trump also had a phone call with British Prime Minister Theresa May. During the conversation, the US president condemned the terrorist attacks in London and reiterated his commitment to supporting London in investigating and bringing those responsible to justice.

He called an emergency meeting.

Prime Minister May has temporarily stepped away from the campaign trail ahead of the general election and is expected to chair an emergency meeting of the government's Cobra crisis committee on the morning of June 4, local time.

The meeting will be attended by security and intelligence chiefs, ministers and senior officials. London Mayor Sadiq Khan will also attend. The Metropolitan Police's counter-terrorism unit is leading the investigation into the attacks.

Mrs May returned to her office overnight after learning of the attack to receive an update on the incident. It is unclear whether the election campaign will be affected. However, in the immediate future, a campaign event between Mrs May and the Labour leader scheduled for June 4 is likely to be postponed, according to the BBC.

The Telegraph also reported that British politicians are under pressure to postpone the election after the country suffered its second terrorist attack in just two weeks. Following the attack, many people also called for the election to be postponed on social media.
