What would the world be like without women, even for just one day?
Women represent the fairer sex because in every man's heart there are special places reserved for the women he loves most.

In today's unstable world, women are disadvantaged and discriminated against due to deeply ingrained prejudices and outdated notions about gender and religion.
Therefore, on this special day, the United Nations calls on everyone to further empower women and girls for the progress of humanity. This is the only way to protect them and help them fully realize their potential and value.
“Women’s rights are human rights, no matter the continent. It’s time we changed outdated gender stereotypes by empowering women and girls, and letting their voices be heard. Let’s give women the right to control their own lives.”
Because women are the future of the world. Gender equality will help us achieve Millennium Development Goals such as combating climate change, eradicating poverty, and violence. Let's join us in taking action for the advancement of women,” said Mr. Guterres.
Secretary-General Guterres pledged that the United Nations would continue to develop a clear roadmap of standards toward a society where gender equality exists. While gender equality was previously seen as a beautiful idea, it must now be transformed into a concrete goal and policy of action.
In celebration of International Women's Day on March 8th this year, many vibrant activities are taking place in various locations around the world to celebrate and honor the beauty and value of modern women.
Speaking at an event celebrating and receiving a prestigious award for women on International Women's Day in New York City, former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton shared that it was women who inspired and empowered her during her challenging race for the White House.
"Thank you to everyone—my friends, family, and the people in my community—who have supported, encouraged, and shared life's ups and downs with me. After everything that has happened, I am now back to a normal life."
"The love, enthusiasm, and youthful energy of these girls inspire me to work every day. Girls, consider failures as valuable experiences that will help you become stronger in life," Clinton said.
This year, the International Feminist Organization is calling on women around the world to make March 8th a "Day Without Women." This slogan means that women should dedicate an entire day to doing absolutely nothing, including shopping, and instead wear red together to show solidarity.
The purpose of this campaign is to show people what the world would be like without women, even for just one day. And the message that Malala Yousafzai, the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize winner, sent to all women around the world on International Women's Day this year is: "Don't wait for others to speak for you. You are the one who can change the world."
