1. France increases airstrikes on IS in Iraq and Syria

Following the bloody terrorist attack on the capital Paris on November 13, France conducted a "series of airstrikes" targeting the IS stronghold in Rakka.

On the evening of November 15, France conducted 20 bombing raids.

On the night of November 16, France continued to use "10 fighter jets including Rafale and Mirage 2000 aircraft - mobilized from air bases in the United Arab Emirates and Jordan" and conducted 16 bombing raids on IS strongholds.

3. Terrorists take hostages in Mali

At 7:00 GMT on November 20, gunmen entered the Radisson Blu hotel in a car with diplomatic license plates and held about 170 people in the hotel hostage, including citizens of the United States, France, China, India, Algeria... The hostage rescue operation was then successfully carried out.

The Russian Foreign Ministry announced on November 21 that six Russian citizens were killed in a hostage situation at the Radisson Blu hotel in Mali's capital Bamako.

The Al-Mourabitoun jihadist group in northern Mali, which is linked to the Al-Qaeda terrorist network, claimed responsibility for the hostage-taking. However, this claim has not been verified.

3. Final results of Myanmar election: NLD party wins 77% of seats

On November 20, the Union Election Commission (UEC) of Myanmar announced the final results of the general election, in which the opposition National League for Democracy (NLD) party of Aung San Suu Kyi won 886 seats, accounting for 77.04% of the seats at three levels of the legislature.

According to the Myanmar Constitution, with a majority of seats in the bicameral National Assembly, the NLD is eligible to form an independent government, holding power in both the House of Representatives and the Senate, as well as appointing two Vice President candidates.

The current government's term expires at the end of March 2016. Presidential elections are scheduled for February 2016.

4. EU tightens checks at Schengen borders

European Union (EU) countries agreed on November 20 to tighten checks on all travelers, including European citizens, at the external borders of the Schengen area.

This decision was made after a series of terrorist attacks in Paris (France) on November 13 that killed 129 people and injured hundreds.

5. The 27th ASEAN Summit officially opened in Malaysia.

On the morning of November 21, the 27th ASEAN Summit opened in the capital Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

In his opening speech at the conference, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Abdul Razak emphasized that November 22 will be the day that all ASEAN people are looking forward to and are proud of, the day when ASEAN leaders will officially declare the formation of the ASEAN Community on December 31.
