114 more Covid-19 cases were reported on May 20th; the outbreak has spread to 30 provinces and cities.

The Ministry of Health reported 45 new cases of nCoV infection on the evening of May 20th, including 40 domestic cases and 5 imported cases who were immediately quarantined.

45 new cases were recorded from numbers 4765-4809. Of these, 40 were domestically recorded, with 24 in Bac Giang, 10 in Bac Ninh, 3 in Ho Chi Minh City, and 1 each in Lang Son, Hai Duong, and Vinh Phuc.

Thus, today the Ministry of Health announced a total of 114 new cases, bringing the total number of community infections since April 27th to 1,761, recorded in 30 provinces and cities.

The number of new infections tonight brings the total number of cases in Bac Giang to 668, Bac Ninh to 377, Ho Chi Minh City to 6, Lang Son to 22, Hai Duong to 21, and Vinh Phuc to 89.

On May 19th, an additional 3,854 people received the Covid-19 vaccine, bringing the total number of doses administered in both phases 1 and 2 to 1,015,249 for priority groups. Of these, 28,865 people have received both doses.

The total number of people in close contact and those entering from epidemic areas who are being monitored for their health is over 121,000, of which over 2,200 are in centralized quarantine at hospitals; over 32,000 are in centralized quarantine at other facilities; and the remainder are quarantined at home or their place of residence.

According to the Vietnam Center for Public Health Emergency Response, the world has recorded over 165 million cases of Covid-19, with more than 3.4 million deaths. The United States ranks first in the number of cases, followed by India and Brazil.
