(Baonghean.vn) - On January 7, 2017, Ms. Vang Thi Thom in Lau village, Thach Giam commune, Tuong Duong district, while picking wild bamboo shoots, dug up a 16kg jicama.

The 16 kg jicama is truly "strong" compared to the gourds and squash placed next to it.

According to Mrs. Thom, while picking bamboo shoots, she discovered a clump of bean plants on the hillside. She intended to collect bean seeds for seeds. She was completely surprised to see a large bean root and when she dug it up, she found a giant bean root, “I had never seen such a big root before”. When she got home, she immediately borrowed a scale and found out that the weight of the bean root she dug up was 16 kg.

Since the day she dug up the giant bean, Mrs. Thom's family suddenly had many visitors. Many people were curious and wanted to see this special bean with their own eyes. Some people congratulated Mrs. Thom's family because they thought it was a sign of good luck and a bountiful harvest for her family.

It is known that previously, on December 11, Mr. Vi Van Thuyen in Huoi Dua - Thong Thu village (Que Phong) while working in the fields dug up a giant bean root weighing 16 kg. It is considered the largest bean root in Nghe An so far.
