Do you think people go to jail for being too considerate?
(Baonghean.vn) - When Thai invited Tuat to traffic drugs, Tuat initially refused, but later agreed to participate out of "respect for others." The two suspects were arrested by the police along with the seized evidence, leaving their relatives shocked and surprised.
On May 7th, the Nghe An Provincial People's Court held a first-instance criminal trial to hear the case against two defendants, Vi Van Thai (born in 1994) and Kha Van Tuat (born in 1994), both residing in Xieng Huong village, Xa Luong commune, Tuong Duong district, for the crime of..."Illegal trafficking of narcotics""
According to the case file, on November 25, 2020, Vi Van Thai received a phone call from an unknown woman ordering drugs. Two days later, the woman met with Thai and gave him 97 million VND to order 10 packets of methamphetamine and one block of heroin.

After receiving the money, Thai invited Kha Van Tuat to go buy drugs with him. The two took a bus to the Dua village area in Luong Minh commune, Tuong Duong district, to look for drugs. Because they couldn't buy any, they stayed there and waited until the next day.
On November 28th, Thai met with a man in a mountainous area to buy 5 blocks of heroin for 90 million VND. After receiving the "goods," Thai and Tuat traveled to the agreed location to deliver them to the customer, but were arrested by the police along with 179.5 grams of narcotics.
At the trial, the two defendants admitted to the drug trafficking activities as charged in the indictment. Defendant Tuat testified that he initially refused when Thai invited him, but later agreed to go because his friend kept calling him and he felt obligated to go.
The panel of judges determined that in this case, the defendant Thai was identified as the mastermind who incited Tuat to commit the crime, and therefore must bear primary responsibility.
Considering the roles and responsibilities of each defendant in the case, the panel of judges sentenced defendant Vi Văn Thái to 20 years in prison and defendant Kha Văn Tuất to 18 years in prison, both for the crime of illegally trading narcotics.
