Construction of the moat around Vinh Ancient Citadel has reached 30% completion.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the construction site of the moat surrounding Vinh Citadel, there are still many households that have not been relocated.
The project to renovate and upgrade the moat of Vinh Ancient Citadel was contracted on January 27, 2016, and was supposed to be completed by August 10, 2017, meaning there are only 4 months left until handover. However, the site is in a state of disarray, and land clearance work remains stalled.

Rainwater has been accumulating in the lake for months, making dredging difficult. In addition, the scattered household waste on the construction site creates an unsightly scene.
The construction work has caused cracks in some houses, hindering the contractor's work. Some houses that were not eligible for compensation have also developed cracks, and now require additional compensation.
According to a report from the Vinh Urban Sub-project Management Board, a total of 37 households (2 in Quang Trung, 6 in Doi Cung, and 29 in Cua Nam) have not yet handed over the land, including some households that have received compensation but have not yet fully handed over the land.

The majority of remaining households are still facing procedural obstacles, unclear compensation amounts, or have not yet accepted the land clearance plan but have not received a resolution. The Land Development Center and the People's Committees of the wards have not been proactive in urging and resolving these issues.
The project to renovate and upgrade the ancient moat includes the following main items: dredging, construction of retaining walls along both banks of the moat, construction of a main sewer line to collect wastewater, construction of new moats inside and outside the ancient citadel, and construction of 6 discharge gates and 6 manholes to separate wastewater.

Currently, only 30% of the construction work has been completed, while 55% of the construction time has already passed.
