Quan Hanh town (Nghi Loc district) celebrates its 30th anniversary.

(Baonghean.vn) – On the morning of August 23, Quan Hanh Town (Nghi Loc District) celebrated its 30th anniversary (1986 – 2016).

Located on the North-South highway, Quan Hanh has historically served as a railway station for picking up and dropping off passengers and goods. During the years 1960-1965, the Quan Hanh area was developed into the political, economic, and cultural center of Nghi Loc district. After national reunification, trade and services in the Quan Hanh area flourished again.

In 1986, in response to the development needs of Nghi Loc district and to accelerate the urbanization process in rural areas, Quan Hanh town was established – becoming the political, economic, cultural, and social center of the district.

Mr. Dang Khac Binh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quan Hanh Town, delivered a speech at the ceremony.

In 2007, Quan Hanh town was expanded based on the adjustment of administrative boundaries of the communes of Nghi Long, Nghi Trung, Nghi Hoa, and Nghi Dien. Quan Hanh town received investment to meet the economic and social goals of the district; creating an urban area within the "Vinh - Nghi Loc - Cua Lo" urban development system.

After 30 years of development and growth, the town of Quán has undergone significant transformation; its transportation infrastructure has been invested in with 5 north-south routes and 13 east-west routes, facilitating travel and trade.

Small-scale industries and construction also developed synchronously. The economic structure shifted in the right direction; in 2016, the proportion of trade and services accounted for 69% (reaching 120 billion VND). The economic growth rate reached over 12% per year, and total food production reached over 1,600 tons per year. The average per capita income reached nearly 40 million VND per person per year.

The fields of culture, education, health, and cultural institutions in the area have received significant investment, thereby improving the cultural and spiritual lives of the people. To date, 8 out of 10 hamlets have achieved the status of cultural units, and 87% of families meet the standards of cultural families. Social order and safety are ensured, preventing crime and social vices.

The collectives and individuals were honored to receive certificates of commendation from the Provincial People's Committee.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded commendations to collectives and individuals who have achieved outstanding results in the process of building local government, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province. The Nghi Loc District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee presented the Party Committee and people of Quan Hanh town with a banner commemorating its 30th anniversary.
