2nd ASEAN Graphic Design Competition and Exhibition 2016

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has approved the Project to organize the 2nd ASEAN Graphic Painting Competition and Exhibition in 2016.

An award-winning work in the 2012 ASEAN Graphic Art Exhibition

According to the plan, the exhibition will take place in August 2016 in Hanoi. This is an activity organized on the occasion of the ASEAN Founding Day on August 8, 1967. The program aims to contribute to expanding relations, cultural exchange, international cooperation in the field of Fine Arts, and at the same time strengthen the friendly relations between ASEAN countries; is an opportunity for Vietnamese artists and artists from ASEAN countries to exchange, study, and introduce works about the country, people of each country, issues that ASEAN countries are interested in; at the same time, it is an opportunity for the Vietnamese public to access and enjoy selected graphic works from ASEAN countries.

The exhibition displays graphic works from 10 ASEAN countries, including the following types of prints: relief prints (wood engraving, rubber engraving, cardboard engraving and other relief printing techniques); intaglio prints (metal engraving, mica engraving, film engraving, photosensitive intaglio); flat prints (lithography, metal litho, wood litho); transparencies (screen printing, stencil printing); monoprints (collagraph); prints using other techniques: cyanotype (blue print), gumprint, digital prints; multi-dimensional prints (print installation, print book art, multi-layer prints).

In addition, the exhibition also displays graphic works with creative themes about life, people, natural landscapes, countries, climate change, praising peace, solidarity, friendly cooperation and contemporary life issues that ASEAN countries share.

Entries must be new works created within the last 3 years (2013 - 2016). Authors must be nationals of ASEAN countries.

It is known that this is the second ASEAN-wide graphic art exhibition held in Vietnam. The first exhibition was held in August 2012, attracting artists from 9/10 ASEAN countries and has achieved success in terms of diplomacy and cultural exchange between ASEAN countries.
