(Baonghean.vn) - On November 24, Thai Hoa town organized the 4th Conference of Good Farmers and Businessmen for the period 2012-2016 with the participation of 30 delegates representing 2,034 good farmers and businessmen households.

In the period of 2012-2016, the movement of farmers competing in good production and business, uniting to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty was widely launched by the Farmers' Associations of Thai Hoa town throughout the area. By 2016, the whole town had 2,034 good production and business households at all levels, an increase of 387 households compared to 2012; of which there were 18 central-level households, 130 good provincial-level households, 448 town-level households and 1,238 good production and business households at the grassroots level.
The Town Farmers' Association has implemented many measures to support farmers such as providing farmers with loans of over 1,972 tons of fertilizer with deferred payment; entrusting farmers with 44.2 billion VND through the Social Policy Bank and the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development; and simultaneously building and managing the Farmers' Support Fund with over 1.4 billion VND for 78 households to borrow to build many models. Coordinated to open 77 short-term vocational training classes for 2,737 learners, 297 science and technology training classes for 14,122 participants.

The movement has encouraged and motivated farmers to promote the spirit of solidarity, mutual love and help each other to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, compete to get rich, create jobs on the spot for more than 10,268 regular workers and tens of thousands of other seasonal workers. In addition, the movement has encouraged good farming households to help 168 farming households escape poverty.
At the conference, 30 typical good production and business models and 3 collectives were awarded certificates of merit by the Town People's Committee and the Farmers' Association of Thai Hoa Town. The conference elected 5 delegates representing production and business households of Thai Hoa Town to attend the Conference to honor typical good production and business farmers organized by the Farmers' Association of Nghe An Province./.
