More than 22 hours a day5/2,A group of workers loaded 12 swans onto a car and left Hoan Kiem Lake (Hoan Kiem, Hanoi).
"The pilot release of swans in Hoan Kiem Lake has been temporarily suspended due to many conflicting opinions, especially some scientists who believe that this species is not suitable for the history and culture of Hoan Kiem Lake."Hanoi Drainage Company leaders shared withVnExpress.
The swans were moved to Thien Quang Lake, not far away.

Previously, on the afternoon of February 5, Hanoi Drainage One Member Co., Ltd. released 12 white and black swans imported from Belgium on a pilot basis. Many tourists and residents were delighted with the sight of the swans swimming and flapping their wings on the lake.
However, controversy has erupted.Professor Nguyen Lan Dung, a biologist and also a person consulted by Hanoi leaders on the idea, said, "Releasing swans in Hoan Kiem Lake is reasonable, creates beautiful scenery, and does not affect the environment.
Disagreeing, Associate Professor Ha Dinh Duc said that Hoan Kiem Lake is a cultural and spiritual place of the whole country, so any animal brought there must be carefully considered. He suggested that swans should only be released during the Tet holiday to create a happy atmosphere, and not kept for a long time.
According to Mr. Duc, domesticated swans are unable to forage and usually live in the North, cannot withstand the heat in the summer, and require specialized care that is quite complicated and expensive.
"Hoan Kiem Lake is not a place where you can release anything. If you raise swans here for a long time, it will turn into a swan lake, or at least they will release birds. Let's leave Hoan Kiem Lake as it is," said Mr. Duc.
