The match against Singapore is a crucial warm-up for the Vietnamese national team. The result of the game is probably not something coach Park Hang-seo is overly concerned about; his ambition is to experiment with a new playing style for the team. Of course, Coach Park will not reveal too many of his tactics to Singapore, as they will face Vietnam in the upcoming AFF Cup 2022.

To achieve that goal, testing new personnel is absolutely essential for this campaign. The starting lineup of the Vietnamese national team includes a number of players who haven't been very familiar in recent years. In particular, striker Van Quyet started the match. The return of the Hanoi FC captain in the red jersey will generate much curiosity among fans. In addition, defender Phan Tuan Tai and striker Nham Manh Dung also made their debuts at the national team level.

Despite it being just a friendly match, Singapore played quite cautiously. Coach Takayuki's players concentrated a large number of players in their own half to limit Vietnam's attacking power. Tuan Tai delivered a perfect cross to Manh Dung, the Viettel striker, who rose high to head the ball. However, it narrowly missed Sunny's goal. This was a new tactic from two players making their national team debut. Fans had previously seen the chemistry between this duo when they played for the Vietnam U23 team.

In this match, Van Quyet's role in orchestrating the game was clearly demonstrated, as most of Vietnam's attacking moves went through him. The Hanoi FC captain, in addition to acting as an "architect" of Vietnam's play, also frequently unleashed powerful shots. And what the fans had been waiting for arrived in the 37th minute. Van Quyet skillfully controlled the ball outside the opponent's penalty area before unleashing a powerful shot that beat goalkeeper Sunny. The score was opened for the Vietnamese national team.

In the second half, Tuan Hai was substituted by coach Park, and Dinh Duy, a player born in 2003 from Da Nang, was brought onto the field. Additionally, Nguyen Thanh Nhan and Luong Duy Cuong also came on to replace Tuan Anh and Tuan Tai.

In his first touch of the ball, defender Nguyen Thanh Nhan doubled the lead for the Vietnamese team. Following a well-executed attack down the right wing, the ball was passed to Tan Tai, the Binh Dinh defender who delivered a dangerous cross forcing Sunny to push the ball away. Thanh Nhan was there in time to unleash a powerful shot that found the back of the net.

After the Vietnamese team extended their lead to 2-0, coach Park Hang-seo brought Van Duc onto the field to replace Van Quyet. Almost immediately, the midfielder from Song Lam Nghe An proved his worth by delivering a perfect pass, allowing Tan Tai to easily head the ball into Sunny's net.

In the final minutes of the match, Vietnam maintained the initiative and scored another goal thanks to Khuất Văn Khang.

The final result was a 4-0 victory for Vietnam against Singapore.

In six days, coach Park Hang-seo's team will play their final match in the international friendly tournament against India.
