The opening match of Group D is a clash between Do Luong Youth and Ky Son Youth. With a superior squad and a track record of 7 championships, most recently in 2022, Do Luong Youth are determined to reclaim their position as a "powerhouse" on the Nghe An youth football map.
On the opposite side, the team from the border region of Ky Son comes to this tournament with an optimistic spirit. Although not highly rated, they are also considered a dark horse, hoping to create a surprise in the group stage.
Entering the match with a superior lineup of tall and strong players, Do Luong Youth quickly imposed their dominance, pushing Ky Son Youth back into their own half. Finally, what was bound to happen did happen: in the 7th minute, player number 6, Nguyen Dac Quan, easily tapped the ball into the net from close range to open the scoring for Do Luong Youth.
Not stopping there, in the 15th minute, player number 10 Nguyen Vo Dai of Do Luong Youth team doubled the lead with an easy close-range tap-in.
With a two-goal lead, Do Luong Youth played quite comfortably. However, in the final minute of the first half, they easily scored a third goal thanks to player number 3, Nguyen Van Manh Dat.
Entering the second half, before the Ky Son players had even settled into their formation, they conceded a fourth goal. This time, it was again player number 6, Nguyen Dac Quan, who scored for the Do Luong Youth team.
Less than a minute later, Do Luong Youth scored their fifth goal, courtesy of substitute player number 2, Thai Doan Gia Bao.
With victory firmly in their grasp, the Do Luong Youth coaching staff rested almost their entire starting lineup. Even so, with their significantly superior strength, they had no difficulty organizing their attacking plays as practiced beforehand. In the 42nd minute, player number 5, Tran Van Duy Hung, easily scored the sixth goal with a shot from the halfway line.
In the 46th minute, player number 8 Nguyen Trong The Vinh of Do Luong further increased the score to 7-0. Surprisingly, shortly afterwards, from a kick-off in midfield, player number 7 Lo Thai Luong of Ky Son unleashed a powerful shot to score a consolation goal for his team.
With a 7-1 victory, the Do Luong Youth team has almost certainly secured their place in the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, in their second match, the Ky Son Youth team must win against the Thanh Chuong Youth team to have any hope of advancing.
