Lack of clean water in the Khe Bo hydroelectric reservoir area.
(Baonghean.vn) - The construction of the Khe Bo Hydropower Plant (Tuong Duong district) required the relocation and resettlement of 585 households from 12 villages in 5 communes and towns. However, even though the project has been operational for 4 years, the infrastructure in some resettlement areas remains incomplete.

During the land clearance process, Tuong Duong district coordinated with the investor to successfully carry out all stages, organizing the relocation of 585 households scattered across villages in the communes of Tam Dinh, Tam Thai, Yen Thang, Thach Giam, and Hoa Binh town. In addition, 1,430 graves and many school buildings and community cultural centers were relocated.
To date, the Khe Bo Hydropower Plant has been operational for four years, supplying nearly 400 million kWh annually, and resettlement efforts are largely stable. However, due to various reasons, some infrastructure projects such as transportation, community centers, and clean water supply remain unfinished and lack sustainability.

Typically, in Dinh Tien and Dinh Huong hamlets (Tam Thang commune), and Pung hamlet (Yen Thang commune), the clean water project is not effective, and resettled people lack clean water for daily consumption. In particular, Dinh Huong hamlet, located right next to the reservoir, has all 137 hamlets lacking clean water.
The reason is that although the clean water project was built, it couldn't draw water from the stream, and the water in the reservoir (stagnant water) couldn't be used for daily drinking and cooking.

Currently, in the resettlement areas, Tuong Duong district is actively coordinating with Khe Bo Hydropower Company to research and invest in replacing some clean water facilities to serve the lives of the people. At the same time, they are actively accelerating the construction and completion of internal village roads in the resettlement areas, resolving any arising issues and obstacles to ensure the rights of the people.
