"From now until 2020, the rescue ship Igor Belousov plans to continue developing and perfecting the diving technology to a depth of 450 meters in the marine environment of the Institute of Rescue and Underwater Technology of the Naval Academy. This work is a continuation of the achievements made in 2018 by rescue divers, specialists of the Naval Search and Rescue Department and scientists of the Institute of Rescue and Underwater Technology of the Naval Academy. The current diving depth record is 416 meters," the report said.
The dive to this depth is a record for the Navy Fleet and the first in the country's history. In 1986, the Soviet Navy managed to dive to a depth of 307 meters from a submarine, the military agency noted.
