Poem: Mother

(Baonghean.vn) - The poem "Mother, Oh Mother" by author Luong Khac Thanh.

Countryside (Thanh Hung, Thanh Chuong). Photo: Nguyen Canh Phuc

The thin blades of grass still sway gently.

And the wind drifts endlessly from childhood days.

The desolate field was silent.

My mother's figure is no longer by the thorny bamboo grove.

The day cassava leaves were mixed with sweet potatoes.

Every time I think of January and February, I shudder.

The village scenery remains intact.

Where can I find my mother tongue to relive the past?

Father and son return to the garden.

Mother alone in the distant fields, all alone.

A vast, silent expanse of sky.

Thousands of white clouds drifted by indifferently.

Knowing that we are separated by a great distance.

I hope to visit your house someday, Mom.

The wind still whispers across the fields.

Will the incense smoke carry my message?
