(Baonghean.vn) - A natural lotus pond has sprung up amidst the mountains and forests of western Nghe An province - a place where Thai people migrated nearly 20 years ago, creating an extremely poetic scene. There, young women in traditional ethnic costumes blend in with the pink hues of the lotus, graceful, gentle, yet full of life.

| The village of Đoọc Búa, located in Tam Thái commune, Tương Dương district, was established in 1990 by people who migrated from Can village. Before that, it was a wild, overgrown mountain forest unknown to anyone. Later, thanks to some households who cleared the land and settled there, it became the village of Đoọc Búa. Today, the village has over 30 households with more than 100 inhabitants. |

| What's special about this small, remote village is the large lotus pond in the middle of it. According to the village Party Secretary, Lo Van Nhan, this lotus pond is natural and existed even before the village was established. When the villagers migrated here, they named the village Dooc Bua (which means lotus flower in the Thai language). In the past, the pond was smaller, but later the villagers expanded it by digging a fish pond to preserve the lotus. Today, the pond covers an area of over 3,000 square meters.2. |

| Every year, the village has an agreement to assign different groups to take turns protecting and harvesting lotus flowers to raise funds for common activities. "Thanks to this lotus pond, Dooc Bua has a source of funds for its activities," shared Mr. Lo Van Nhan. |
